Full length gold pants. It's the way of the future.

Shaq,

Nice work on the guernsey's, but can someone confirm that its in constitution that we have to have a white monogram??

The Gold is a nice addition and itsn't too far from the orange/yellow we've had, but not the shorts, white or blue must still be predominant.

considering stink-kilda has a red top a yellow top and a boiled candy top i think it would be fine for us to have the blue monogram...

Yeah, nice work Shag. I'd be happy to go with the gold shorts and socks with that guernsey.

Love ya work, mandy!

Gold shorts? For Christ's sake!!!

I'd let us go as far as ORANGE, as that's a traditional colour of ours. Look at Denver Broncos strips if you want to see Navy/orange combinations.

Or the SES, if it comes to that....

Bump.

That's a pretty compelling stat in the poll so far, but let's get a few more punters voting. ;)

That's almost as compelling as mandy's support for the Carlton jumper.

its got me stuffed why everyone is negative against the idea of an away strip.

home games - we where our traditional jumper, no exceptions.

away games - we where our "away" strip that changes every second year.

Do it for no other reason than it is a marketing cash bonus.

The clubs would earn a packet if every second or third year they had an "away strip" introduced.

as for tradition.

bollocks to that excuse, every other club in the world pretty much alternates every few years with a new strip. Why? Cash, and plenty of it.

Hell, even in World Football, the National teams change their strip every couple of years and i know, i have about 6 England Football Shirts to vouch for it, and every other international team does it.

Its a no brainer IMO - The Traditional Jumper for Home Games without fail, the Away Jumper for games that we are the visiting teams.

Come Finals time, if there is no clash - then the traditional jumper, if there is a clash i.e. carlton v demons, then the team that finished higher, which means they are usually hosting the game and considered the Home tean, has the right to wear their traditional jumper.

Come on Carlton, lets be proactive on this one and lead the way.

An away strip every two or three years would be superb.

Also, none of this shit, wear an alternative jumper only if you clash, if you are the away team, you must wear your away strip. period. no exceptions.

Finally Prez! I agree with you.

Although I reckon just wear the away jumper when required, not every away game. But I could live with it if that was decided to be the way to go.

I have to agree ThePrez on this one. English Premier League Soccer teams change there unifroms almost every year!

I personally like the way the basketball teams do it in the NBA. Same colours on the uniforms at all times just in 'reverse' order depnding if it is a home or away game. This is pretty much what The Shag has done on his first alternate jumper design.

Re the white and what Fremantle looked like, just remember that they had to work in purple and green with their design. That colour scheme will never work no matter what the hell you do with it!

As for the option of the gold shorts.........do you think Molly Meldrum would "jump the fence" and become our Number One ticket holder!?!?

its not just EPL that does it, just about every major league in the world does it.

Barcelona - has their traditional strip then they have an away strip that changes every couple of years, italian teams do it, heaps of teams and national sides do it.

its a no brainer for me

But the "they do it so we should too" reason is the worst of the lot.

By constantly changing jumpers, I think the Club would be in danger if annoying at the least, and disenfranchising at the worst, a vast swathe of supporters who don't want to see the jumper changed, full stop.

EPL jumpers = shite. Personally, I can't tell which team is what, or whether the players play for a club, or play for a sponsor. Ridiculous.

Any alternative jumper has to be for clashes or Pre-season comp only.

only agree with is being used as an alternate strip, not an away strip.

a few times a year is okay and refreshing change, every other week i would find it a bit much.

Like Prez has stressed it's done on the world level as well. Are you trying to tell me the Carlton footy club has more pride and tradition than France, England, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Scotland etc.
This is nation against nation in the biggest sporting event in the world. There is no more pride or tradition than playing for your country. This tradition argument is bollox I'm sure Eddie would forget all about tradition if the filth knocked of the cats in a final this year wearing a different jumper.

Agree 100% or 110% - take your pick.

No need to change something if it ain't broke.

no greys, silvers, browns, oranges, yellows, purples - just navy blue and white..

"we are the navy greys, silvers, oranges, yellows. we're the team that never lets you down."

You make an excellent point TheGame. Lets face it, the ultimate aim of the AFL is to have a 'home' uniform and an 'away' uniform just like International Soccer.

As long as it has the CFC logo on it and maintains the blue and white colours I'll be happy.

Blah, balh, blah, blah.

That's all I hear.

The Euro soccer clubs, sell out their jumper every year for a few dollars more. It's a shit reason.

As usual, you're completely missing the point. EPL teams by and large have jumpers of a plain colour. There are only a limited range of colours available, and far more teams than colours. AFL clubs don't have that trouble.

Making the argument "Well the wogball teams do it" is the lamest most vacuous excuse for a reason. Oh wait, look who's making it.

I have no trouble with the idea of a clash strip if we have to. But it shouldn't be worn for every away match, and shouldn't be produced just for the sake of slugging families for more merchandise.
