But the "they do it so we should too" reason is the worst of the lot.
By constantly changing jumpers, I think the Club would be in danger if annoying at the least, and disenfranchising at the worst, a vast swathe of supporters who don't want to see the jumper changed, full stop.
EPL jumpers = shite. Personally, I can't tell which team is what, or whether the players play for a club, or play for a sponsor. Ridiculous.
Any alternative jumper has to be for clashes or Pre-season comp only.
Like Prez has stressed it's done on the world level as well. Are you trying to tell me the Carlton footy club has more pride and tradition than France, England, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Scotland etc.
This is nation against nation in the biggest sporting event in the world. There is no more pride or tradition than playing for your country. This tradition argument is bollox I'm sure Eddie would forget all about tradition if the filth knocked of the cats in a final this year wearing a different jumper.
Blah, balh, blah, blah.
That's all I hear.
The Euro soccer clubs, sell out their jumper every year for a few dollars more. It's a shit reason.
As usual, you're completely missing the point. EPL teams by and large have jumpers of a plain colour. There are only a limited range of colours available, and far more teams than colours. AFL clubs don't have that trouble.
Making the argument "Well the wogball teams do it" is the lamest most vacuous excuse for a reason. Oh wait, look who's making it.
I have no trouble with the idea of a clash strip if we
have to. But it shouldn't be worn for every away match, and shouldn't be produced just for the sake of slugging families for more merchandise.
