Also got confirmed that we are losing members at the "high end" i.e. Coterie, premium mebers etc. Not good.
My neighbour is a die-heard Carlton supporter (should see the stickers on her rubbish bin), and has been a member of various coterie and women's groups at the club. She's been telling me how depressing it is to go along to club functions and to see how numbers have dwindled (one group of women is down from 80 a few years back to around 30). She said that players often don't turn up as promised, and that at the last one Denis was there and left her feeling that he'd rather be anywhere else but there on his day off.
It worries me as to how we are going to move forward with the big picture if we can't get the little things right. The Board should be focused on looking after us as supporters, rather than harping on about inflated contracts and legacy debt. We know the history, what we want is innovation - in marketing, supporter recognition, training facilities etc. It can't be as hard as it all feels at the moment.
fair call that - got the same impression at the one gen blue event i went to last year with Sticks.
now i realise he has important things to attend to - but if he cant get to and attend such things for a series amout of times they should have got someone else.
not bagging sticks at all - as im sure he would love to be there if he could and be there having a few drinks as well - but he has other engagments, but just like about everything else, its a case of everything left to a few people.
but why couldnt they get some like i dont know, Ang Cristou, Mil Hanna etc.. and have them as part of the offical group and have them at the functions full time.
just another thing that is poorly managed IMO.
