It was O'hAilpin's ball? Not the way I remember it.
100 % it was his ball and Fev should have protected the contest not barge straight into it
Even recall the commentators at the time bagging Fev over it .
I am fully aware of Setanta's lack of awareness but in this instance Fev was fully in the wrong
I agree with Sydney, and for the record, Sydney is not a bias Setanta fan, and for Sydney to back Setanta...it must have been obvious what he saw.
IMO Setanta was in the zone to take the mark. He didn't run back with the flight, he took a few steps to sit under it and mark. He would have marked it (in the box seat) till Fev came along with the 2 backmen who were wearing him like a glove, which he didn't have to. Setanta had position and height advantage over Lovett Murray.
Whether Setanta was supposed to be there or not, the fact is that he was. Sometimes its your turn to go despite the team rules. What was Setanta suppose to do? Run out of the forwardline with the ball coming to him...and leave 3 defenders with Fev...with Fev having no one to jump onto? Yeah right.

You see that's the problem with a one man forwardline.
What was the result of the Fev attack on the ball? No one got it and we had an injured player as a result. Fev should have worked out the probability of that result. Careless and negligent imo. Fev could have protected Setanta with a shepherd; he's done that many a time when he wasn't selfish. Setanta was just showing glimpses of consistency with his marking at the time too.
Oh, that's right, it was a one man forwardline. Glad to see the end of that era.
Good decision to trade Fev for many reasons both on and off field. I'd hate to have all this Fev attention on the CFC throughout the preseason and the beginning of the 2010 season. What would be the good of that?
Fev is not our problem anymore. Chapter closed. Well done Swanny.
