I've stayed out of the debate because to be honest I dont really know where I stand on his future with the club.
One thing I'm surprised by though is the number of people who want to discard Fev when clearly he needs help that extends beyond his football. Yes he's continually made mistakes, but that makes it clearer he needs assistance to manage his problems.
Blaming others for this actions isn't right, Fev also needs to sit down and have a good look at his behaviour when he's drinking, but maybe we need to look at some of the groups who have let him down and the club stands at the top of that list.
Maybe now is the time to sit down with Fev, work with the AFL and more importantly the AFLPA if we need too and make sure he gets the councelling and assistance he needs.
I didn't watch TFS last night once I heard they were showing the footage, hypocrical of them to show that after firstly saying they wouldn't and threatening to sack him. They've clearly let him down by putting him in this situation. He barely got through last years Street Talk.
I have viewed the segment on youtube this morning and if thats the beer bottle incident they're talking about with Cooney...
We (the club) and he (Fev) owe eachother nothing TBB.
Right now he is a professional footballer with an active career. If we decide to trade him on to another team, and they do due diligence on him, he's all theirs. Not our problem from this point on.
If we sack him and he doesn't get another gig in AFL, we owe him assistance in getting his life together after footy. That's it in a nutshell AFAIC.
