He had TFS cameras following him around all night. that was the 'media storm' around him in that video. He was aware of this as he was getting paid for this.

I might go out into the street and run some little kids over. You might read about it in the paper but as far as you're concerned its just gossip. You wont know them so it wont affect your life. So based on your logic there's nothing wrong with what i'm doing.

Keep it up!!

Talking about a tool running over some kids is talking about a crime.

Talking about a guy getting drunk is gossip.

It's not rocket science.

And the Footy Show stuff is as bad as it got, which was nothing and was nothing more than a step up from his gig last year.

The gossip about him singing karaoke and hugging teammates is pure gossip. The sort of stuff that appears in the gossip mags. Embarrassing to be talking about it.

Just heard via SEN that Carlton has fined Fev $10K for his "unacceptable behaviour".

confirmation of the fine

I would guess that $10k is the maximum fine allowed by the PA

verbs you can try and justify his actions as much as you like. you can call it here say you can call it gossip, hell you can think it never happened for all i care.

For some ignorance is bliss.....so enjoy it i guess..

but when you decide to wake up and open your eyes to the real world, let me know.

For me, the only part that i'd be dissapointed in is IF he did upset Gibb's missus or anyone else. (and No, im not saying he did. Dont bust my balls)

Other than that, i couldnt care less because there were no major incidents.
He's just doing what he wants to do, kaput.

Some of you are right....who cares what Fev or any one else does at a public function where the entire football community can see him.
Who cares what he did in Ireland. Who cares when he spits the dummy on the field. Who cares when he doesn't chase.

I've been overseas and i got in a fight. I've spat the dummy at someone during a football match. My mate never chases in a football match because he's overweight and says he cant be fu^*##. But hell i'm Australian and so is my mate. Thats what we do. So Fev should do it to!!!!

What an absolute joke this thread is. The fact that some people see this as perfectly acceptable or just another 'Fev' moment is pretty damn ridiculous.

How long can we put up with this sort of embarrassment. Is it 'cool' to have our 21 year old future star Marc Murphy telling his 28 year old senior team mate that enough is enough and having to carry him out?

Some people need to grow up on here and realise that Football is not just about what happens on the saturday or the sunday.
And dont say lighten up or you take life to seriously because no one is telling Brendan not to have fun and no one is stopping him from having fun.

Fun is not embarresing the club himself and most likely his wife infront of the afl community.
For the Carlton football club to become a powerhouse once again we need to comand respect. These sorts of antics do not command respect, it makes us look like a complete rabble because it's the guys 5th offence.

Jason Gram missed a physio appointment and thus was not allowed to play that week. That is a club that demands perfection. They are playing in a grand final this weekend.

Fev had mad monday to 'cool off'. Smoking ciggies and getting trashed is no way for a guy that is getting paid a hell of a lot of money to treat his body. Be it during the year or during the off season.
He clearly does not care about anyone bar himself.

Here here - well said!

Those of you defending Fev, answer this simple question ...

Will Fev's behaviour off the football field ...

a) help Carlton win our next flag
b) harm our progression towards our next flag
c) won't make a difference

If you've answered c) then in the words of Michael Caton "you're dreaming".

Every respected industry professional including Ross Lyon, Bomber Thompson, Brett Ratten, Greg Swann, Mike Fitzpatrick, David Parkin etc would answer b). And the reason they'd answer b) is they know how bloody hard they are to win, and anything that may even remotely jeopardize that chance is not good.

Now even if that harm is 1% (ie Marc Murphy and Bryce Gibbs lose a bit of respect for Fev) then it's 1% too much.

Yes we all like a good time and a laugh but premierships are bloody hard to come by just ask the Dogs and the Saints, and we are coming up to a premiership window, but so are other clubs and anything that happens that can damage our chances is unaceptable. Fev will have plenty of time after he retires to act like a goose.

Of course i love Fev...he's a superstar, a larrikin. A true match winner.

Is he representative of the brand Carlton is becoming - professional, forward thinking, successful? Not sure. Carlton need to be clear on this - I am certain that a successful organisation is one that has a culture consistent with its brand position.

Regardless of where each of us stand on this fresh incident, we should be entering the trade period with aspirations. There is no doubt Fev will again be the subject of discussion - and he should be given the circumstances in the 2010 and 2001 trade periods. The clubs actions at the trade will only demonstrate whether our premiership aspirations are short or long term. We aren't going to generate any valuable picks in the next couple of years without giving something valuable away.

(Personally i didnt get much joy watching his behaviour when the cameras hit the Carlton table during the Brownlow ie not epresentative of what i believe Carlton is attempting to create. It seems that the CFC were equally disappointed, given the fine).

Press Play on the video player and say 'seeing you can't remember, this was you on Brownlow Nite, do you think this is acceptable and what will you do about it?'

If there is anything more embarrassing in life, it would be watching your self as a drunk tool in front of your bosses and fellow players.

That would be 10 times worse then missing a few games of football.

...and that would be presuming he was a normal person. Fev would light up with that kind of attention. That's what he does it for.

Yea he you would love a behind closed doors thing like that, NOT. get real mate.

Your posts are completely anti fev. we get your point, you dont want him at the club.

Completely agree with The Duke, Mighty Blues and others who say enough is enough. Anyone who is happy to casually dismiss yet another of Fev's habitual flower ups clearly has no idea what team culture is required to achieve success in the incredibly competitive afl environment.

Fev is a freak and has provided some of the greatest highs for supporters, myself included; but we will never win a flag with him. He is a cancer that is eating away at the fabric of the team from the inside. We have the best young talent in the competition and we allow them to be poisoned with this crap. Not talking just about this particular incident but the whole sorry Fev saga.

I have actually been off his case lately coz he seemed to be making a genuine effort - most notably with his improved workrate and temperament on field; but I am as convinced as ever that Fev has no respect for the club. He is expert at treading the fine line; always pushing the limits of what he can get away with; always saying the right things but privately mocking his employers inability to control him. Many of us have seen employees like this and know what effect they ultimately have on productivity and moral.

Not that it is relevant to the discussion at all; but I do not accept the argument that we would drop out of the eight without Fev. We have plenty of fwd options next year with Waite, Kruz, Setant and dangerous small forwards developing. Any pick we got for Fev would be a bonus.

The obvious response from Fev apologists is Coleman medallist etc. It is a strong argument. He is a great player and it would take a strong administration to sack him; but at the end of the day, you either stand by your values or you don't.

BTW I hope I am wrong about the 'no flag with Fev' thing coz I don't think the club has the balls to sack him.

No need to celebrate if Carlton was to win a flag with Fevola playing. Even though you "hope you're wrong" your attitude in a cancerous element which has taken over most of the Carlton supporter base. Good luck to you.

culture = the behaviors and beliefs characteristic of a particular social, ethnic, or age group.

Fev has enormous profile and he works it. His behaviour at times does as much damage to our a culture as Chris J's behaviour might do it good.

which is the culture we want in order to be successful?
