Today, small article on page 16 saying he had been set up.

I wouldn't even call it an article. More a blurb than anything else. Methinks the hun were the ones to set it up and don't want the public knowing about it (or at least making it extremely difficult for them to).

I'm surprised to see so many against the players having a release at the end of whats been a long season. As long as they don't get into any trouble I don't see what harm it causes.

Exactly,

They are professional athletes but they are also human.

As long as its responsible drinking and having fun with the boys then whats the problem?

Journos and the media in general are vultures and should just back the !@$% up.

FFS just let them be!!

the players cant afford it..

the club cant afford it..

the sponsors cant afford it...

I understand your point but where do you want to draw the line?
The playing group is going to be left to their own devices for the next 6-8 weeks. Are you expecting the club to assign somebody to each individual player over this period? The next 6-8 weeks will be just as dangerous as the Monday that has just passed.

I'm sure if any of us had cameras falling us all the time we'd see some embarrassing things

These guys are only human and most of the year they don't get to play up like others their age

As long as they're not hurting anyone then fine. And Naughtons is not a family pub (I don't mean it's a strip club or anything like that), and it's not like Fev has walked into a Wiggles concert and started waving a dildo on stage

if alcohol wasnt a focal point of footballers and professionalism was .. why would i need to assign people on players 24 hours a day?

id have thought.. that with the slap in the face the club received when its players were thinking of the doggies game before the lions game was done.. the players would be stung too much to worry about getting cactus and playing with dildos supersized or not...

there needs to be a galvanisation and a steeling in the players if they wish to be succesful.. we have too many plonks and party boys and not enough leaders.. and its why we lost.

losing judd for the first 3 games next year is a good thing...

now we have the whole of the pre season to think about leadership...

... but its not going to happen with a booze and dildo culture is it???

might have been a nice statement by the group about next year.. if it was more civil....

a massive fuel fed celebration after losing the unloseable game is hard to support from me...

Maybe you need to look at the premeirship club that Juddy came from? I mean he might look at Fevvy waving or wearing a dildo and think thank Christ that's all he needs to get a kick. He is not sniffing powder or popping pills to get a high. Juddy might think this is great, the boys are prepared to just have a drink and a bit of fun and leave it at that.

This is &^%$!!!

We are so god damn obsessed with sports people in this country...there is massive amounts of pressure on them already...the media can get [REDACTED] and our obsession with judging them and expecting them to be superhuman can also @#$%&! off...

For every person who says "they are professional athletes" to back up their theory that they should act completely different to other young men of their age then I say to you shut your mouth untill you have been there...getting payed massive amounts of money to be a profesional athlete does not and never will automatically change your personality and give you the ability to be friggin perfect.....

Luck to the boys...get into it and do some stupid shit..... I can't believe that we are becoming so @#$%&! retarded that we think a bunch of young men getting on the piss should be outlawed.....that getting on the bevvies to undwind or celebrate is some form of evil behaviour.....

Goodness me...

I don't think anyone has said that. Personally, I'm all for the guys having a few drinks and getting stupid and acting like young guys. But getting a bit drunk and acting dumb is very different from getting shitfaced/maggoted/blind.

It's a sign of the times when footy fans are just as worried about what players get up to off the field as they are about what they get up to on the field.

im actually not like that... fun is fun... business is business..

i doubt the players play only because they love footy... and for fun... if they play for fun... they shouldnt wanna get paid money that serious business... so they want serious money... they have to treat it as serious business.. and think about every aspect of what they do.. from eating and training and preparation.. to getting out there to schools and functions...
some of them hate getting out to functions and schools... to do all that grass roots stuff with normal people...
