my opinion, for what its worth (and, really, the only person who matters is myself), Gibbs is a better player than Selwood.

I'm not saying that through rose colored glasses, I'm not saying that with bias loyalty to a guy who plays for us... I just think that time will tell that Gibbs is a more talented footballer.

Is he as hard as Selwood? probably not, but Joel's body will feel the effects of his reckless attack on the footy one day. That's not saying Bryce is soft, not at all, just that when we really get up and running our boy will prove his worth.

Either way, the question isn't 'whose better?' in this thread, anyway. It's 'is Gibbs a star?'. Is he a star right at this moment? once again, probably not.

Will he be? Absolutely, not a doubt in my mind. We have one of those most brilliantly gifted footballers I've had the pleasure of seeing. His vision, range of passing, awareness (save a few little hiccups here and there), work in traffic, coolness and temperament all prove to me he is a star.

2010, and possibly September 2009, will be Bryce's big year.

I like your opinion.
Your opinion could be good friends with my opinion.
However...I look at Bryce right now...and I definitely(sp??) see a luminous glowing star....it is there. It's hard to miss really.
Bryce Gibbs =star and a star can rise to meet its full zenith.

He's not a star right now.

He's just a very naughty boy.

Now that the regular 22 are over the real fun begins. But for now, Gibbs has managed a staggering 597 disposals in 2009. Aside from Scotland's 598 in 2006 nobody else has achieved such a number since 2000 when Ratten and Camporeale both managed over 600.

In 1999 we played 26 games and Ratten managed 670 possessions. If we do the same this year and make it all the way to the grand final Gibbs at his current pace will have an amazing 705 possessions for the year.
