Blue Vain its very relevent
Jurrah had never played AFL before this year. He is from out of nowhere. The Demons took a risk on the back of a recommendation from an ex AFL player whose name escapes me(may have been Betheras). This kid has it all. Great hands, feel for the game, is quick a bit different to Bentley who we rookied for god knows reasons.
In rare circumstances you pick a recycled player in the drafts but only if they are good enough or not riddled with a long trem injury and its something the club needs
The doggies have been the best at this recently with Aker Hudson and Welsh
We have picked Duds like Bentley. Its a disgrace and highlights this clubs pathetic attitude to who gets pick whilst a kid like Anderson continues to play seconds footy much better than Bentley yet Bentley gets picked twice over him.
Jurrah is a risk Yep
You know what you are going to get from Bentley, Hadley and Johnson
They have been in the system long enough for us not to go out and recruit hacks.
Does that make more sense
Keogh we did recruit our "Jurrah" this year......... Gartlett and a much better pick than the Dees got too!!!!!
So the comparison should Jurrah or Gartlett not Bentley!!
Surely you can see why we picked up all of Hadley, Johnson and Bentley and why we have played them.
They offered a instantly hard body in a team of young, inexperienced boys and who knows how well they may come on in a new team/club environment.
Lets not forget that both Hadley and Johnson were moved from teams who were very unhappy to see them go!!!! So they must have had some currency (not Hacks) and we got them for nothing.
I think they all were calculated risks which shows considerable thought and analysis by the recruiters/football department. In the end they may work... but just as speculative as a young rookie with no expreience in the big league.
I also think they may still offer us a year or two of benefit until our youngins' mature a little more.
Bentley needs to be tried for a few more games before being rejected outright, but yes I would have preferred Ando to be given a run.
Gotta laugh outta this post,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,not once was Ratten mentioned
Am I in the right topic, i thought this was about if Ratten is "The Man" or Not The Man".
Now back to the subject !!!!!!!
So if ratten is "Not The Man", how long do you persevere with him ?.
And if he stays to long, we could lose our door of opportunityto win a premiership.
Expectations of this year is to make finals, if we dont , does he get the boot or do you give him another year ?
And if he gets another year, what would be the expectations for next year ?
yeah I know, i have no ideas to offer, just questions !!!!
