Greg Miller was recruiting players

The Greg Miller appt was a stupid appt.
It reeked of bringing in a name and not looking for the best man for the job.
You can be very VFL or you can become a prodessional AFL outfit that makes the right choices...
Good point...

Synbad ?? What makes you an expert on anything football, give me or other tc'ers a resume on your achievements or experience in this form of the game and maybe your expertise and contacts on how you know what goes on in the day to day running of our club , guess what, you know sweet fa about what is going on at the club and what it takes to run our club or what it takes to run any club, so stop your vitriol and please, other tcers dont suck up to people that know nothing exept how good their vocab is on the keyboard and the sound of their own
keyboard clicking away. And SYNBAD just before you start with your drivell , give us an answer on your achievements and experiences in AFL coaching and adnin???
POST OF THE WEEK CHAMP
I wouldnt hold my breath though waiting for the answer

Don't know if it is. We're all in pretty much the same position, in the grandstand or in front of the telly, cheering when we're winning and trying to find answers when we're losing. I doubt most of us know what's going on inside our club, or have experience at working inside an AFL club, but we all shared the experience of watching a an anxious/disorganised/lazy/insert your own adjective carlton on friday night. We didn't play as a team on friday, it sucked, and we're all simply posting theories as to why. If someone inside the club knows the cause and wants to enlighten us then I assume we're all ears, but until then we'll go on guessing with the only information we have; watching our team play.
Most people do watch the footy on the telly or from the grandstand, and most people have thoughts on what they see. But what most don't do is put propositions based on just opinion. Opinions are great and evrybody is entitled to have one, but you dont need to know about what your commenting on to have one. SO hence the questions put by Spider, justify your opinions with some substantial experience in what your talking about. Totally reasonable question and in my opinion, POW

I'm not having a go at you Baz, or Spider for that matter. I am curious though...
Do you mean to say that only those with experience playing or coaching at an AFL level are entitled to have an opinion on how Carlton in playing football?
or
Do you mean to say that if you're going to have an opinion worth listening to you should back it up with examples, to make it coherent and cogent?
Because the latter would lead to interesting and intelligent debate that I think most would welcome and enjoy. The former on the other hand would lead to no one talking about anything except what they do at work. We follow Carlton in part to escape that.
