1. Running away from the man with the ball... Countless times whenever the crows were running out of the backline nobody ran to the man with the ball... We ran away from him like he had swine flu. We ran back to try and flood the space (by the way, we are crap at doing that). This just allows the player with the ball to spot up any target he likes without any pressure..

I hate this zoning off protecting a pointless space instead of attacking the man with the ball. Ok he might run around you but at least you did something that gives you a 50/50 of a turnover.
Eddie Betts always tries to tackle the man and he is one of the smallest players on the ground. His causing of turnover has a demoralising effect on the opposition. Robinson when he first came in was an attacker, now he has been drilled to become another no-brain zoner.
I can guarantee you if players stood on the mark when the opposition get a mark instead of zoning 5 metres away it would also slow down their play.
Point to the spot where you think the mark is, so you can't give away a 50 and stand there. They have to take 5 steps back before kicking as a result... These are simple things that create a difference...
Also stand on the mark, not 5 metres inboard to give them opportunity to get a better angle... if umpire calls play on... attack the kicker... don't idle around on the mark..
