Will be next.

Will be...

Sunny arvo on the Coast, curtains even gave some sun through save bad stitching, (may have got up at one stage to divert direct sunlight but only got half of my arse off the couch at that point...like our Blues...in style mind you).

It was a little too easy. Sitting back down. Come on Baggers, come on Baggers...no KILLER Fev- so what. Even his bit was half arsed but half better than the opposition.

Baggers

Baggerz.

Robbo bean flickin' gay makin' ginger ridin' TAS-MAN-IAN on the roll on the ball and nowher near half arsed but surely making a name for his no-neck self outside of football for bravey alone.
HAMMER- first real hard HAMMER flick of the switch...
GIBBZ-
But
But
Before I get to...
Bower...get off get off get off get OFFF, don't touch me it is my ball and you can do as you please beyond my contribution but not if you come near me, welll...
THORNTON- Youse can all go and geeeet Faaaaaaaaaaaaaflower again @day and today and this afternoon when I see-hee-MASHED the Pieboys...then

SCOTLAND

He gets up, my my doe he get get get get get up up up up-pa-pa-pa- Uuuuuuuuup.

But,

Judd did his bit, not a bad player

( ) One of those in brackets Judd-wise is pretty handy,

But,

How good was Waite? Like a a real rocket. Like a real rocket the Soviets wish they pretended they invented and a real rocket even better than the American actually invented...

But..

Yarran.

Yarran.

Yarran...he'll be disapointed with that last kick for goal- but I'm not. Because- I'm not Yarran, but then again, I'm not Mork or Yoda either and both of them are nowhere near as good as what Yarran is going to be.

So, ROBBO.

But. But. But... (Simmo KILLED THEM)

BUT.

For me, (and Scott Baio today because he is on the radio), just have to say it type it give it up for he is HE IS he is HE IS Carlton he is- is- STEVEN BROWNE.

This week we will not get any credit for this win, as the perception out there is that Collingwood only lost due to their players being out.

Bet they will not mention how inexperienced out side was.

An interesting exercise I just conducted, so I am armed for all the Collingwood supportes at my work tommorrow.

Collingwoods average age today was : 23.18
average games : 75.54

Carlton average age today was : 22.59
average games : 69.36

Bet this wont be mentioned all week.

GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!

Good point!

The Pies were really unsettled though - losing so many players in 2 weeks really hurts

That chase of Heath Shaw didn't have him really gasping so you get the feeling he has another gear there; should have done more. His previously noted level of attack on the footy - or lack thereof - was another 'highlight'.

The talent is there but something is holding back his output. Frustrating player...

This was his second game wasn't it? Okay, the chase wasn't great, but we were told when we recruited him that he would mostly play up forward this year and be used as a burst player. The club acknowledged his fitness wasn't a big strength but is confident that over time (read, a couple of decent pre-seasons) that he will be able to play a midfield role.

Just look at the sliky take from the Judd handpass and subsequent goal that Yarran scored. From what we've been told, that is why we recruited him. We've also been told the rest of the package will come with time. Let's give him some, don't you think...

I don't think anyone is not willing to give him time but you have to judge him on what you see & clearly he lacks a bit in hardness 2nd efforts when he does not have the ball, where is the pace & magic? Of course you would give him 2 years like any other player but I saw issues early with Jordan Russel (reading the play) and Josh Kennedy and they weren't rectified.

It's a win and we needed it.

It was strange watching two bottom side with 83 000 people.

What today showed me:

Our game plan and structure is very poor or either we aren't doing what we are supposed.

Our kids have potential with guys such as Robbo, Joseph, Browne, Austin, Hammer, Bower looking better and better.

We have some very lazy players who do the easy things. Unless we have 22 players putting bodies on the line we will get smashed.

Question marks over Stevens (some of his efforts were disgraceful) Russell (the new Mick Gayfer) Thornton (won't get those possessions against a good side and his disposal is very slow) Fevola & Yarran (nowhere near fit enough for AFL level)

"The BIGGEST issue for me that has been obvious in our loses and today is our lack of leg speed and lack of kicking penetration across the ground"

Unless we address these issues we will NOT reach teh top level.

Im happy to walk away with the 4 points but..............

What a boring, dull and laconic game it was.

Still can't work out how we are instructed to play.

The match committee finally got Robinson and Browne in and both were very handy contributors.

Robinson is good even if it is just for the fact that he takes the game on - runs forward when he has the ball, and creates some uncertainty about what is going to happen next.

Need more forward movement quickly into the forward line closer to the corridor, but all in all the team gelled together well.

HAMMER
:donk: No brainer no brainer no BANG his hands went when they clasp as they do- and did today, (albeit at one particular moment) but up your ring if you think science and mind find their strap in the the first few moments... KA-HA-BANG Hammer's hands went and...here we go from here on in if that was the sound he heard and I hope I heard.

Murphs getting a little bit too consistent.
Really. He should have retired by now.

Still think there is a spot for Santy.

There were some great highlights in this match.... not sure what people are complaing about in terms of highlights.

Judd's contested mark and Eddie's diving mark - as well as Hampson's goal from near the boundary line were three great moments.

For me the key problem is that we constantly play wide. The Richmond game showed how lethal we are when using the coirridor. A bit confused why we play so wide - not the way the currentkly successfull teams play.

feeling a bit like some of the other posters....happy with the win (especially over THEM) but something not quite right. A bit like having a sneaky pash in the dark and finding out that its your cousin!

At the game i thought our lack of movement in the forward line sometimes was lacking and like most sides, when we ran to make space, we looked fantastic. I coundn't get over the feeling that against better opposition we would have been exposed.

Having has a few hours to digest, it was pretty clear that Collingwood really tried to make it a scrap to minimise damage with about 25+ ball up's each quarter - which i think made it very ordinary to watch.

Still want more RUN and corridor football. (Just watched the bummers and despite getting beat, they persist with corridor footy and give themselves every chance). The only time we played this way was in the 1st qtr - coincidently we got 5 goals in front.

I noticed that we made an effort to keep the fwd line open - nice change from last week up in Qld.

Of the kids, i loved the work from Hammer (best game for the club), Austin looked ok, Mitch gives us some 'x' factor and Bower kept to his task. Kruze is simply super.
Judd a star (sorry, not rocket science i know), Gibbs and Murphy work really hard and Simmo and Scotland played their best games for a while.

We are getting there ...... but it willtake time.

Still, its a win that we'll forget about in 2 weeks time and all that will remain will be the 4 points!!

How do we address those issues? Do we want a total side reconstruction or do we want to pull a few bricks out from underneath? Next year it will be something else. The last time we tried to do that sort of thing we got Jordan Russell and plenty of 'needs' have come and gone since then. You try to overcompensate and you just see other problems crop-up, some of them caused by the very elements that were brought in to fix the first issue. Call it The Cane Toad Principle.

In 22 games time i can see Robinson not Austin being the one that frees up waite to play wing/forward.

GOt the courage of hodge, seems coordinated and disposes of it a well ( and will get better). With a season or so experience he will be perfect.

What do you think?
