The Pies were really unsettled though - losing so many players in 2 weeks really hurts

I don't think anyone is not willing to give him time but you have to judge him on what you see & clearly he lacks a bit in hardness 2nd efforts when he does not have the ball, where is the pace & magic? Of course you would give him 2 years like any other player but I saw issues early with Jordan Russel (reading the play) and Josh Kennedy and they weren't rectified.

It's a win and we needed it.

It was strange watching two bottom side with 83 000 people.

What today showed me:

Our game plan and structure is very poor or either we aren't doing what we are supposed.

Our kids have potential with guys such as Robbo, Joseph, Browne, Austin, Hammer, Bower looking better and better.

We have some very lazy players who do the easy things. Unless we have 22 players putting bodies on the line we will get smashed.

Question marks over Stevens (some of his efforts were disgraceful) Russell (the new Mick Gayfer) Thornton (won't get those possessions against a good side and his disposal is very slow) Fevola & Yarran (nowhere near fit enough for AFL level)

Im happy to walk away with the 4 points but..............

What a boring, dull and laconic game it was.

Still can't work out how we are instructed to play.

The match committee finally got Robinson and Browne in and both were very handy contributors.

Robinson is good even if it is just for the fact that he takes the game on - runs forward when he has the ball, and creates some uncertainty about what is going to happen next.

Need more forward movement quickly into the forward line closer to the corridor, but all in all the team gelled together well.

I'll have what Orangewhip is having...

There were some great highlights in this match.... not sure what people are complaing about in terms of highlights.

Judd's contested mark and Eddie's diving mark - as well as Hampson's goal from near the boundary line were three great moments.

For me the key problem is that we constantly play wide. The Richmond game showed how lethal we are when using the coirridor. A bit confused why we play so wide - not the way the currentkly successfull teams play.

feeling a bit like some of the other posters....happy with the win (especially over THEM) but something not quite right. A bit like having a sneaky pash in the dark and finding out that its your cousin!

At the game i thought our lack of movement in the forward line sometimes was lacking and like most sides, when we ran to make space, we looked fantastic. I coundn't get over the feeling that against better opposition we would have been exposed.

Having has a few hours to digest, it was pretty clear that Collingwood really tried to make it a scrap to minimise damage with about 25+ ball up's each quarter - which i think made it very ordinary to watch.

Still want more RUN and corridor football. (Just watched the bummers and despite getting beat, they persist with corridor footy and give themselves every chance). The only time we played this way was in the 1st qtr - coincidently we got 5 goals in front.

I noticed that we made an effort to keep the fwd line open - nice change from last week up in Qld.

Of the kids, i loved the work from Hammer (best game for the club), Austin looked ok, Mitch gives us some 'x' factor and Bower kept to his task. Kruze is simply super.
Judd a star (sorry, not rocket science i know), Gibbs and Murphy work really hard and Simmo and Scotland played their best games for a while.

We are getting there ...... but it willtake time.

Still, its a win that we'll forget about in 2 weeks time and all that will remain will be the 4 points!!

How do we address those issues? Do we want a total side reconstruction or do we want to pull a few bricks out from underneath? Next year it will be something else. The last time we tried to do that sort of thing we got Jordan Russell and plenty of 'needs' have come and gone since then. You try to overcompensate and you just see other problems crop-up, some of them caused by the very elements that were brought in to fix the first issue. Call it The Cane Toad Principle.

In 22 games time i can see Robinson not Austin being the one that frees up waite to play wing/forward.

GOt the courage of hodge, seems coordinated and disposes of it a well ( and will get better). With a season or so experience he will be perfect.
