Why would anyone build you something so that you can profit directly by having other teams playing there?

Are you serious?
Re-read what you just typed up there..

In case u missed it we are still holding ont the interest free loan the AFL gave us years ago... that we were meant to have paid back years ago....
WE actually owe a swag of cash....!!!... could take years n years to pay off...
Hmm. Guess it'll be a walk in the park to pay off "A SWAG OF CASH", that'll take "YEARS AND YEARS TO PAY OFF"
- once the incentives Collo/AFL offered us to jump ship run out -
- and we are eeking out 50k a game at TD when the same amount of people at PP would net us MUCH MUCH more...
on top of that -
...then there is the social club.
...then there is merchadise (our teams and oppositions which we'd profit from - though "Why would we want to profit from other teams?)
...then there is revenue from catering, beverages, parking, so on. so forth.

You have heard plenty of arguments why it couldn't be used for low drawing crowd, but fail to listen to them.
1. The goal of the AFL is to allow access to as many poeple to watch the sport as possible.
2. Even a poor crowd at Docklands is greater than 20,000 which is about the amount of car park space at PP
3. If North Melbourne was to play Freo at PP, I doubt they would get 15,000 people there, at Docklands that same game will get 20,000+
4. There are not enough low drawing crowds to justify a third stadium in Mebourne
5. If there is only going to be 2 stadiums, then PP is never going to be one of them.
6. All stadiums must be able to play night games.
...
Heavens. Sorry, I was going to respond to each point individually - but I just realised that they are all rubbish. They have NOTHING to do whatsoever with ScottSaunders question.
Ok. Look I'll give it a try.
1. He said 'low drawing'. I'm certain 'low drawing' would mean people could fit in either grounds... besides,
it's not a argument against for this reason.
2. Difference? 20k at Docklands = US PAYING THE DOME $$$. Car parks don't mean squat in this instance, that's
another argument in itself (and probably the only reasonable argument for leaving PP in the first place)
3. Difference? NM v Freo at the Dome = $$$ TO THE DOME. At PP? = $$$ TO US!
Why would they do that? With two more teams entering the comp, they are going to have to schedule at least a quarter
of the rounds with an extra game in Melbourne. Do the math and you'll see what I mean...
4. See the end of my response to point 3. We.will.need.another.ground.anyway. That or Melbourne teams playing
more homes games interstate (another 17 game membership anyone?!), or we'll be playing on the new square 'pitch' they are building for the second Melbourne A league side.
5. See points 3 and 4. Redundant point.
6. How many night games is Skilled Stadium hosting this year? How many did they host last year?!?!?!That's it.
Keep looking Steve.
Oh and Jars. See that? See what I mean?
