"For our young midfield, you look at Heath Hocking, who was a rookie, Andrew Lovett (another rookie). We have an international rookie (in Michael Quinn), to go up against the likes of Bruce Gibbs and Marc Murphy and Chris Judd, who are high picks. It's going to be fabulous for those boys," Knights said.

We'll struggle to keep pace with jets like Watson, Stanton and Hocking :yikes:

Yeah, and like maybe we should unleash the speed of Betts, Russell, Grigg, Judd, Robinson and Garlett

I think you'll find that, for all Robinson's great qualities, raw pace isn't one of them. His footy knowledge and positive approach make him look quicker than he is.

He does appear quick...especially in one on one chases...maybe that's TV for you...That's all I've had this year.

Can't wait to get to a few LIVE games

true enough, intensity will cover most of the time, but there are times his lack of pure speed will hurt.

Totally unnecessary to take pot shots - will be cracking down on these in future.

Why must everything be black and white to some fans? If someone says that one of our great young players isn't the second coming of Kouta he's a traitor to "the cause"?

It's a discussion forum. The free exchange of ideas and all that. It's simple. Someone alluded to Robbo's speed. I've noticed that Robbo lacks straight line speed. I shared that observation. Others noted variously that those vital first few metres are quick, that he seems quick, and that straight line speed isn't always relevant to AFL footy. I conceded that, but maintained that my point had some substance. I could be right, I could be wrong, maybe a bit of both.

You're entitled to have a crack at my so-called negativity, but you should consider the value of reasonable discussion, and the negative effects of stifling debate, even in the form of a little dig, a reminder to conform to groupthink.

I reckon as long as everyone acts in good faith, banter and debate is what Talking Carlton is all about. If you disagree, cool, tell me i'm wrong and why. Ignore me if you like. Just don't tell me how to think (ie not negatively).

Eh, that sounds a bit pompous, in response to a seemingly innocuous comment, but flower it, i suppose I get annoyed easily. :smoking:

QFT - He is quick because he can break the lines.

i think thats harsh.

i like knights, he is positive and always pumps up his players, which has a role on effect.

their supporters believe it and they are oblivous to the bleeding obvious.

they are rubbish, but he keeps painting a rosy picture, the supporters accept which all ends up resulting in Essendon* beliving the rubbish and spending years at the bottom being rubbish.

"becuase they have some young quick players"

knights is awesome :) for everyone but Essendon* supporters :)

Mitch is quick, Armari, that's why he can run down players, not only that he has stamina, he did a gut run against the tigers from the forward pocket to beyond the 50 metre line, got his man too!
