I want us to win just because this article

made me want to stick it right up the clacker of all the one-sided reporters that work at the Addy.
Sometimes it's just a bitch living in Geelong.

You could argue that they would have fielded stronger Northern Bullants teams in the VFL last year than the one they will put on the park tomorrow night.

Could you? Really? Could you? .... hhhmmm, go on then, come on here and launch that well thought out piece of discourse ... muppet :garthp:

Edwards, Pfeiffer and Stanton played in the Bullants' practice match. There is a match report on the Bullants Update thread.

LETTER TO FEV: FROM GOOD MATE MATTY SCARTLETT

Hey Ugly!

Had a Bingle lately? Ha, u know I always start with that.

What's this about you not playing? Flowering bull$%#!! Been talking with the boys from defence and we're beggin' ya mate, ya gotta play, just gotta. Discussing it, we're generally unhappy with your proposed bloody forward line for a few reasons:

* firstly, your my match-up mate, that's what they pay to see ... best forward vs. best defender. You're the Joker (ugly as) and I'm Batman ... told Harley he can be Robbin ... told me to Flower off!

* the script, always is: they kick it to you 9 times out of 10, we double/triple team you and run it away (oh and give u a couple goals here and there so u dont cry like a girl). What are we doing without the script?

* we can't match up on Kreuz. He's too tall and the bastard chases when the ball hits the decks, bit over eager isn't he?

* tell Clokey he's going to hurt someone if he keeps hitting those packs so hard, someone might end up in hospital Fev ... hospital Fev, seriously, ya know, can ya imagine. Also, he's forgotten his role: it's not useful goal-kicking small ruck with laser-guided right boot, it's another Cloke family Collingwood reject with the big arse and smarmy smirk that everyone just wants to punch (onya Santy!).

* and the rookie from Swan Districts, heard his mum and Lance's mum are the same person, twin brother is the goss, what's that all about? Btw: is it spelt Garttlett or Gartttlett? Is he really 195cm tall? Looked smaller on the TV. That pace and chase is just ridiculous (thought Eddie was bad enough), the boys with me down back are really worried about this kid ... what ever happened to Worksafe, you're meant to feel secure in ya working environment!

* finally, pick 6. Why the Flower does he have to play this week? Mate, the kid could explode and make us all look pretty stupid (saw the bloody Youtube footage) ... and he chases, you're giving us guys nightmares.

Just do us a fave mate, you come back and play, I'll play on you, I'll give ya 5 ok?

Thinking of shavin my head, what do ya rekon?

See ya tonight, on the field eh! Your match-up ....

Matty

Really looking forward to tonights game. Am going along to watch.

Its game like these some guys can really stand out and put there names up for selection in round 1.

For me I will be interested in Austin, Browne, OKeefe, Yarran & Ellard. Some real potential there.

I hope we frighten the shit out of Geelong.

Good that Hill's getting a game but Edwards must be having some serious dummy spits to not get a guernsey.

Not even going to comment on persisting with Bentley.

I see the game as a great chance for blokes like Hadley, Bentick, JR, Thornton and others with a few years under their belts to prove that they can lead, because they'll be some of our more experienced campaigners tonight.

Good for Kreuz to hopefully spend the whole game as the focal point up front

Hope he plays FF all game. Be interesting to see how we use the ball going into the 50 without Fev there.

Bentick's not playing thankfully. Imagine all the defensive pressure in the midfield with both him and Bentley in the side... there's a slapstick routine in that surely:

*Ball is bounced*
Bentley: Hurry hurry hurry
Bentick: Tackle tackle tackle
*Ball is cleared*
Bentley: Well what do we do now Adam?
Bentick: I dunno Greg, I never thought of that

What follows is a hilarious set of defensive efforts in the open field

I wouldn't mind seeing Hammer leading out from FF.

I doubt he's done that very much. But I did read in the traing report that in one of the simulation drills he did pretty well as a lead up forward.

He has pace to burn and he's very tall; in fact he's taller than Kreuzer.

Like any game, we need a bit of muscle, determination and skill to win the ball in the middle/ clearances.

Cats seem to have the answers in the guts...but never under estimate the power of desire and youthful enthusiasm.

I wish Robbo was playing tonight.

Hampson did plenty of that in the juniors bondi, to the point where he had to be carefully studied at QAFL level and played in the ruck for the Allies scouting game (or whatever it's called) because they hadn't seen enough ruck play. He played mostly forward at the championships.

Apparently Edwards was unimpressive for the Bullants.

Well there you go...thanks again jimmae.

I really like the idea of 3 mobile ruckmen rotating ruck/ Fwd/ IC to maintain 100% effort with fresh legs.

Whlist Jacobs isn't exactly mobile, he has improved incredibly in that area over the summer. He also did well fwd in the Ants 08 effort.

Really keen to see 3 ruck sized players in the team. Most know I'm a fan of 3 mobile ruckmen who can create mismatched and give 100% as followers over 4 quarters...ala Cox.

I'm keen as mustard for the game in 90 minutes time; not for the win (a little though), not to get out of doing paperwork in the office (a bit of that too), but to see what a few combinations can muster and see the next tier man up against men.
