Made some changes cj as I think your list seems to be more about potential/possibilities rather than actual performance week to week.

I dropped Walker as he hasn't had the chance to perform consistently. Simmo IMHO is a lot higher on the list than given credit as is Scotland.

I brought Cloke up a few notches as I think he peformed well at the end of last year when moved forward and also so far in the NAB. I dropped Hadley as he promises a lot but has yet to deliver.

I bought Banno and Fisher up several notches as I think pre injury Banno showed consistency and good form in games and was really missed last year. Some people consider Fisher to be a one trick pony but if all of our players could mark the ball as well as he does, then I'd be happy. There has got to be a place in a team for a guy that can pluck the ball they way that he does.

1. Judd
2. Fevola
3. Gibbs
4. Murphy
5. Waite
6. Simpson
7. Kruezer

Fair points DUC.

The basis for my post is there has been a lot of talk about our depth and we need it to step up this year. But if we list them 1-46 as above to me we really fall away past our top 20 odd. To me based on our top 10-15 we could easily be in the top 4. Yes there is some potential but will our bottom 20 step up and add support when we need it? A couple of injuries and we could be in trouble

Fair enough not to include the new guys. Have to agree with most of it. What will be interesting is to reassess at the end of the year. IMO for us to be a finals side a couple of them need to step up into our top 25 by years end.

?? And I stick by it, but as we stand here today that is where I rank him on the list. Mind you it is a poor reflection of our list IMO.

I could easily argue how you could put Jamo ahead of Walker or Waite, or Simpson ahead of Gibbs, or Bentley ahead of Pfieffer, or Hartlett ahead of Austin or Anderson which I believe is ridiculous but I wont. Everyone is entitled to there own opinion. At least it is nice to see you actually form an independent opinion instead of basic criticism. Well done!

If the objective is to highlight an inadequacy in depth, the I would disagree unless we had:

Warnock, Hammer and Kreuzer injured at the same time.
Judd, Murphy and Simmo injured at the same time.
jamison and Waite injured at the same time.
Fevola, Betts and Kreuzer all injured at the same time

or even...

who we have out for tonights game.

But that problem would apply to all teams.

Take Scarlett and Harley simultaneously.
Take out Ablett and Bartel simultaneously
Take out Blake period!

I think CJ69's list actually shows adequate depth when one takes into consideration his 4 forwards, 8 midfielders and 6 man defense into consideration and we only have one key injury in each area...we will be competitive in 2009.

I'll have a think a bout the list. Very difficult exercise. Like DUC highlighted, there's potential and current form and then there's 2008 form. On current form, I couldn't agree with Scotalnd; the bloke can't even run yet, and we don't know if he's going to return the same either.

Why has Houla had each hip operated on within a fortnight, and Scotalnad has had one hip done and Houla is up and running, and never felt better, and scotaland is struggling? The same surgeon did the job on both.

Just did it. Bloody horrible exercise. Prefer the positional chart than order 1-46.

Firstly, no one should negatively criticise other posters' opinions. This is a very difficult exercise. Well done to all those who have attempted this (WARNING: awful exercise)

I tried to consider positonal value, (form current and 2008 form), and potential to do the uncanny as opposed to good average player.

For me it starts from the middle ruck, mids followed by KP. Mainly looking at ruck/ mid/ fwd/ back and some specialists. Mids can be played fwd and back flank positions. KP's can play flans against tall opponents.

Don't hold this list against me after tonight's game.

All positions are subject to change due to our 'best of breed and technological advantage policy' committment to deliver the best available product to market at the time.

Any admissions today cannot be held against me in future and by no means do my estimates attempt to degrade or devalue any player on the CFC list...I just wish 2nds players wore CFC jumpers.

1. Judd (mid)
2.Fevola (FF)
3. Kreuzer (ruck fwd)
4. Simpson (mid)
5, Murphy (mid)
6. Gibbs (mid)
7. Waite (KP)
8. Walker (mid)
9. Stevens (mid)
10. Jamison (KP)
11. Warnock (1st ruck)
12. Bower (KP)
13. Houlihan (mid)
14. Hadley (mid)
15. Scotland (mid) fingers crossed.
16. Hampson (ruck fwd)
17. O'hAlpin (back gorillas)
18. Thornton (KP)
19. Betts (fwd mid)
20. Carrazzo (mid)
21. Robinson (fwd mid)
22. Grigg (mid)
23. Armfield (mid BP)
24. Yarran (fwd)...should step up
25. Fisher (fwd)...marker
26. Garlett (fwd) ...should step up
27. Johnson (mid)...kicker
28.Russell (mid)
29. Browne (mid BP)
30 Bannister (mid)
31. Wiggins (fwd)
32. Austin (KP)
33. Jacobs (ruck)
34. Cloke (fwd)
35. Hartlett (fwd)...potential to be in first 22.
36. Anderson (mid)
37. Bentick (mid)...fallen in my ratings...tough nut.
38. Joseph (mid
39. Ellard (mid)
40. O'Keefe (back)
41. Stanton (fwd)
42. Pfieffer (mid)...mmmm
43. Edwards (fwd)...mmmmm
44. Hill (mid)
45. Bentley (mid)
46. Tiller (fwd)...baby

Never want to do that again....bloody hard exercise...whilst players this week have fallen down the top 40 chart (Fisher and Bentick), they may bounce back due to unforeseen circumstances. Fisher lucky to be in front od Garlett based on their recent outings.

Good luck.

Thank you for also seeing the light to those who think I'm correct. Impossible to agree over 46 positions.

The players have run out on the ground for their warm ups.

This Fisher bashing is an absolute joke. In our best 22 full stop. Probably one of the best contested marks in the league and will kick 40+ goals this year....
