Just following through on boynamedsue's additions, and referring back to Round 24, 1994 as a close loss to Essendon*, and the above name popped up. Of course, Kirzner later played at reserves with us in 1996, but we dont have details on site about how he came to us (or his player details, height etc.) From memory he came from Ajax, but was he a supp list player? When did he do his knee - before us or after us?

Yep, Julian Kirzner was on our Supplementary List in 1996. He wore number #48. Also on the Supplementary List that year was Darren Hulme, Anthony Franchina and Shane Whitnall! Kirzner only played the first 4 games of the reserves that season (including a 7 goal haul vs Collingwood in Rd 1), and never played a senior game for us...
He was recruited by Essendon* in the 1993 draft at #36 from the Central U18 (where he was a team mate of Justin Murphy). He managed just 1 senior game in two seasons at Windy Hill. In his one game (yep, against us in Rd 22, 1994), Kirzner, wearing number #40, kicked 1.2 in wet conditions....and didn't look hopeless against the full-back of the century, as the 10th placed Bombers caused an upset which cost us the minor premiership

. Bradley also suffered an injury during that game (hamstring?) which kept him out of the finals, and probably prevented us from playing off in our 2nd GF in two years...
Anyway, Kirzner was delisted by the Bombers before the '96 season, and we selected him (possibly under the "because he played well against us" rule!) in the Supplementary List draft (meaning he could only play in our reserves team). I'm not sure why he didn't play more than the first 4 reserves games that year, injury may have played a part (although I seem to recall he was back playing with Ajax in the Amateurs later that year..?).
The Pagan-coached Kangaroos picked him up in the inaugural Rookie List draft before the 1997 season (at pick #15). I remember he was kicking a lot of goals in the reserves for the Kangas (wearing number #48 still) early in the '97 season, was then promoted to the senior team, and kicked 4 goals on debut for them (vs Port). It was during a time when we were looking for a forward to replace the ageing Sticks and Earl, and I thought "oh no, don't tell me we let one get away". But he only played 2 more games for the Kangaroos before suffering a serious knee injury. He was on their Rookie List again in '98, but he played no more senior games.
Kirzner was a 188cm, 90kg forward. He finished up playing a total of 4 AFL games for 6 goals. He would have played close to a total of 80 reserves games from 1994-98 for three clubs. I seem to recall he had a reputation for freakish goal-sense, but a work/team ethic short of what was required at the highest level...
I'm happy to be corrected on any of the above!! It's based on my recollections, old relevant AFL Records, and the AFL Season Guide.
Cheers!
