Comparisdons to basketball are extremely simplistic ... we have 3.5 times the number of players on field at any one time.
I don't think trying to hit team mates on their own 30m away can be described as attempting pin-point passing ... yet Simmo and Murph were chief offenders in being unable to do this on Sat, and others here have documented the numerous turnovers and clangers which occurred on Sat. Just 3 or 4 more hits on the chest instead of on the turf or over the head could have won the game.
It takes TIME for players to get used to a new coach with a new game plan.
We can argue over structure, but it's hard to argue that many or perhaps any on this site observing the game can criticise with real knowledge of what instructions are given. We can merely observe what actually happens.
And Mickstar, this is aimed directly at you ... it seems you are implying every slow ball movement is due to Ratten's instructions, which I find highly unlikely.
Giday H,how are you mate....................i'll tell you what H,we have a young side, and if they are not doing exactly what Ratts is telling them,im very worried.
Sorry buddy, but like Warbs, you are missing the point. The footy network reaches far and wide and there is an incredible amount of research done into the style of play of all teams.Every one knows everything about everyone. The half court press is what every club knows what will beat a Brett Ratten coached Carlton. And that is a fact.Im just suggesting the guy gets with it and trys a differant tactic. And there are tactics that are commonly used to counteract this tactic. And so far i have yet to see that.I dont particularly like to see our players continually against a brick wall over and over and............
And as far as our last quarter innacuracie costing us Warbs.............bullshit !if they had of been accurate early they would have buried us.
