it was him wasn't it?

Yes it was. Great player but surely the umps are onto his tactics. Similar to Monfries, Lloyd and former Essendon*/Port player Gavin Wanganeen.

Pro - got to see the last half of the third and all of the last.
awesome last quarter and our midfield, oh our midfield is a nuke - when it goes off game over!

CON missed so much because my son had a 3 o'clock game.

Agree. Jammo is an absolute superstar defender! Best rookie listed player in the comp.

Really liked Grigg's game today. Was very composed, made great decisions, executed his skills well by hand and foot and showed a lot of initiative in directing his teammates in the backline. A lot of leadership from a young man on the rise. Best game for the club.

Also liked Ratts' confidence in his players. Was willing to engage in a shootout with the Bulldogs and boy did it pay off in the end.

What a great day!

Lake was inviting trouble when he bumped fev from behind as fev was walking towards the 3qtr time huddle.

Had a touch of that ginger Essendon* idiot giving Bradley some facial niggles in the 99 prelim.

I noted it as the nail in the bulldogs coffin.

Best win we have had in a few seasons... these guys are meant to be a premiership threat, pretty much full strength, at a ground they play very well.

PRO:
-How do we keep coming back... gee its amazing the will these young blues have
-Our pressure on the man in the second half was top notch.... unreal... awesome to watch
-Jamison is becoming a very good defender... top game again
-Judd, Stevens, Gibbs and Murphy, what a midfield, they blitzed in the 2nd half.
-Kruzer does things that blokes his age shouldnt do, his tackling for a big bloke is beautiful... star
-Wiggins.... he just busts his guts and he deserved a win in his 100th... great game!
-Fevola is a superstar... the umpires just wait for him to show any emotion and ping him... that *&^& Lake was pushing him all game.... Lake is lucky he didnt get 10 kicked on him.... scumbag
- BLUES WIN AND COLLINGSCUM LOSE... GOTTA LOVE WEEKENDS LIKE THAT

CONS: Our disposal is woeful at times
Goal kicking again... nearly cost us
Why do we give teams 6 goal leads before we start playing... makes the win sweeter when we win... but we cant keep doing it

I love the Blues... enjoy the good times guys coming up in the next few season, because heaven knows we have all been through some crappy times in the past 5 years

Pros
- As per mentioned by others...a great victory.
- Finals are a real chance and I'm looking forward to next weeks match against Adelaide...we are a much stronger unit than when we last played them.

Cons
- poor disposal in the first half.
- Hartlett has hardly fired a shot in the last two matches. I'd give him at least one more week to prove himself however.
- Fisher - once again didn't provide a goalkicking option up forward.

PROS :
- Well done Juddy & Wiggo. You were both terrific in your milestone games, and the well-deserved respect and love your teammates have for you was obvious today.
- More game time under the belt for Grigg, Kreuzer, Browne & JR. All showed signs of continuing improvement.
- Return to form for Stevo, Carrots, Scotland, Fisher & T-Bird.
- Batman & Robin (aka Gibbs & Murphy) :-D
- I was impressed with the flexibility of our backline. The Bulldogs changed things around in their forward line a fair bit but we had them covered. Jamo is getting the job done week in week out against a variety of different opponents. Very rarely gets outmarked in a one-on-one, and is very quick off the mark (and is as cool as a cucumber..), so he can play on almost any type of opponent. And Austin looks like he belongs out there. Interesting that he was thrown forward at one stage - when Bower comes back, maybe CHF will be Austin's spot..?.
- Betts is a much better player than he was 12 months ago.
- Our tackling was better today.
- Tex seemed to get through the game OK and there seemed to be no new injuries.

CONS:
- Our disposal was poor at times, and we wasted scoring opportunities. This is still an area where our young team needs to get better.
- Beaten in the ruck again.
- Fev calling the Bulldogs an "unaccountable team" on SEN after the game. Fev had a pretty good game (after half time anyway), but those comments are simply ammo for Rocket next time we play the 'Dogs.
- Harts looked a bit lost. He's probably the only player tonight that wouldn't be feeling good about his contribution to the win. I hope the MC persist with him for at least another week. The bigger ground in his home state might suit him more next week...

Against quality opposition, that was one of our best wins of the season for mine. GO BLUES!!

Never say die spirit and run on.

Kreuzer - the way this guy somehow gets to the next possession after his tap out in the centre is freaky - yet to kick a point this season. 8)

Gibbs - this is the Peter Motley I never had.

Cons:

Not being able to get to the game. :x

Watching the replay on tape and knowing the result and still throwing the remote at the TV after the decision on Scotland for deliberate out of bounds.

Having to listen to Dwayne "The Dweeb" Russell.

Sat next to the CS today..... plenty of noise later on to say the least

Had a chance at that level for an up close look at Jamo - his closing speed and spoiling ability are top shelf. Superbly balanced as well. No newsflash I know, but pencil him in for 200 games.

The difference in movement each team employed between the first and second halves was amazing. First half Dogs moved the ball back into the centre and entered the F50 through the guts (and quickly). We played it wide and sloooowly. Second half was role reversal - especially the last. So many entries were coming in quick and through the guts, Fev has a choice of where to lead and got decent delivery.

Anyway;

PROs -

Wiggo, you little beauty. So happy for you.

Russell - you could almost see the wheels turning over in his mind when he has the pill. If he could relax and just play, he'd be above average. One of his best games for the club. His movement and contest were great.

Midfield - When they're on, they're tough to stop. Thinking about these blokes with a consistent contest out of the ruck must be frightening for opposition clubs.

Grigg - stood tall in a couple of big one on one contests today; the development continues. Will be an elite running HBF in a year or two when he tightens up his kicking.

Kreuzer - Could count the mistakes he has made this season on one hand.

CONs

We must persist, but Harts just couldn't get going.

There might have been nothing in the 50m reversal, but Fev puts the ump in a position where a decision has to be made, and that's what he doesn't learn and never will. If you place yourself in the hands of the ump, don't complain when they stuff it up.

As noted - where we fall down against the top teams is movement.

The speed of our movement
The quality of our delivery
Where we end up with the pill when entering F50.

Classic case in point in the second, we had a nice rebound 50 going with some hand balls through the centre. The options dried up, and we end up running in circles for a bit until we bombed it to Betts where the 50 meets the boundary in a 2 on 1. Ball swept up the other end.

What a great win. With games against Brisbane, Adelaide and North coming up... our destiny is in our hands.

PROS:-

Gibbs -
I just love him. He is already Elite in my eyes. Never ever do i panic when i see the ball in his hands. He's like Neo from the matrix. Just see's everything in slow-mo! Love him.

Tell me something........................who did he shut down tonight WHILST earning his 21 possesions????????????????????????????

Judd -
Well, what can you say but "@#$%&! i'm happy to see him in the Navy Blue"

Fevola -
Showed us WHY we should give him a 3 + year contract!

WIGGENS! -
I have personally given this guy alot of shit over the past couple of years, but it was great too see him play his best game in the Navy Blue on his 100th game celebration!

CONS:-

PLAYING THE FLANKS -
Hard to say now that we've come away with a win.......... but.................. i hate it when we play the flanks too much. I dunno, it's as if Ratts wants to TIRE out the opposition and then Run them over in the 2nd half, but it's so frustrating to see us hold up play - then move to the flanks - then kick long to a contest only to turn the ball over!
One part today, Waite took a mark in the centre and had TWO FREE MEN in the corridor........... but he didnt even look at em,.................. just went straight to the wing and the ball was turned over.

Again/................. Cant really say too much cause we won.

UMPIRES. -
Put the @#$%&! whistle away for the love of christ!

PROS:

- JUDDY taking the game on all day
- Murph played out of his skin well done son
- Gibbs stamped class
- Grigga oozes composure and is becomming brilliant
- JR had an outstanding game ALL 4 qtrs
- KEEPING THE DOGS GOAL LESS IN THE LAST Q while slamming on heaps

CONS:

- Frist quater yips
- DIVING TACTICS - piss off this isnt soccer

Points of interest:

- Eddie eating super duper ice blocks at quater time - is he 12 and gets an ice block when he does good things ?

- JR had blisters on his feet after 1st q, had peps whacking heaps of bandaids from what i could tell. - played really well after that. MAGIC BANDAIDS

- Stevo was a little slow to begin with and seemed to be playing like last week. BUT WOW what a last half, well done

- OUR DEFENSE was outstanding today, it was free flowing and they were accountable for each other, much like ROUND 4 where they were peeling off each other and supporting each other _ AWESOME to SEE

- Hartlett looked a little lost

I love you wiggins.

Pros

Best win for the year for mine. Doggies at the Dome FFS, and keeping them goal-less in the last. 65 point turnaround. Mind-blowing.

Juddster. Willed himself to dominate in his 150th. Still only able to run at I'd say 85% (look out 2009 :P ), but his dishes to advantage while being gang-tackled are flower brilliant.

Hats off to the Chief. Kept us in it. His best game maybe ever ?

Murph and Gibbs. Midfield class with a capital C, and will only get better. Is Gibbs only 19 ??...........na surely not.

Kreuz, and just when most of us were calling for him to have a break. For an 18yo ruckman to have kicked 10-0 or whatever in his first season and move like he does is super. Cotchin will be a star but so will our bloke.

Jamo. Love this bloke. He is maybe gonna be even better than Sexton. Can play on all shapes and sizes, so cool, and one on one rarely beaten.

Grigg & Austin also good games. They will both definitely be a part of our next flag side. Browne was beaten early but only 'cause he's barely 18 - seen enough of him already to know he'll be a beauty.

Fev's 2nd half. Geeez he's good when he's on. Some of the passes to him were great too. It helps when guys like Judd/Stevens get to deliver it to him. Makes the game look easy ?

CON

The rollercoaster ride you go on when following the Blues this season. The highs are sooo high, the lows excruciating. Although the huge Pro is that there have been plenty of highs this year !!

Umpiring. Disgraceful, both ways, although we copped the bulk of it in the first half.

pros: the midfield in the second half - murph/judd/gibbs/stevens
