Normally I would agree with you but I do believe Fev would rather stay than move which lessens his hold on things, and Fev being Fev may not hold as much appeal as a gun player with a good track record.

Still I am just speculating here and I think if he and the club want him to be here then they really should come to an agreement sooner than later.

It strikes me as odd and to suggest that they just put it to rest until seasons end to concentrate on the footy is a bit perplexing.

His management can use the PSD as a bargaining tool and allows then to play more hard ball even if bluffing. Out of 15 clubs someone would take him at his price certainly. His management would certainly push that point too. Simply good negotiation. He'll stay he wants too. Just a matter of who can hold their nerve.

We talk Fev here but alot is his management. Wonder if he would've signed by now if he was running his own affairs? 98% of the time we hammer the management as being parasites.

He's damaged his own public image with his off field antics and on field dummyspitting displays. That will be an issue if he wants to high price himself for the psd.
He's currently being shown who's boss and won't be going anywhere

The weekend's match was proof that

1) Fev can be an A grade player

2) that the forward line around him is largely C grade (ie wiggins and russell) with some B- or B grade for Fisher

No wonder Fevola has brain explosions, can't handle intense pressure -when there is no viable option to him.

I think keeping A grade players (such as Fev) is important. Once Kreuzer settles in there as a viable option you will have two A grade forwards and Betts -that is the making of a good forward line.

Carlton's decision to hold off talks till the end of the year has ensured that this thread will definatley achieve 100 pages.

Rumours of Fev going to Sydney have been brought up again. I guess the media have got nothing else to write about now since Fevs negotations have been put off till the end of the year.

For some reason i don't blame Fev for this circus, I believe Mrs Fev is playing a BIG part of whats going on here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary Lyon last night was hinting, quite vigorously as well, that Fev holds all the aces and the PSD would be a good place for him to end up in. I wonder why he would lean towards no resolution/trade for Fev. He has been speaking to him and all.

Brendan Fevola is a gun! And his game on the weekend ( i thought ) was one of the best ' team games ' he has played. Tackled hard, chased hard, still kicked 5... BUT i applaud the Blues showing that NO PLAYER is bigger than the club and the club wont be held to ransom by anyone, even if your one of our best players.
We have a lot of young stars coming through, what do you all think they will do come contract renewal time if we let Fev's management call the shots?
The Carlton footy club is in good hands with Swann running the show.
fev will stay with us at the price WE want... and if he doesnt then he is dumber than i thought.
