This is where my attention would be. Without the gun midfielders then our forwards won't have an opportunity to kick goals.

Footy has changed. If Carlton made finals all opposition teams would double team Fev and they win the game. Have 5 gun midfielders and you will find they will all kick goals. Look at Geelong.

Paying Fev lots of money is old school thought which is why Elliot supports it.
How many did Mooney kick last year. Blows your argument out of the water. You won't win many without a decent key forward. Even the year the Eagles won Lynch kicked 65 goals.

Mooney is made to look good by having guns like G.Ablett, Bartel, Chapman, Johnson, Corey, Kelly etc getting the ball to him. If Mooney was at Melbourne he would struggle to have any presence. Lynch had Kerr, Cousins, Judd, Embley, Fletcher.

Jim that was a very poor arguement and your thoughts are aligned with the older paradigm.
I wouldn 't think it was a poor agrument. Actually yours is a poor argument. One of the poorest. KP players have always been important. too say otherwise is folly. Everyone knows that. KP players aren't there as feeding machine like monkeys in a cage. They either finish the good work by their ability to read the play or take the difficult contested mark by using their strength a smaller player couldn't. To say anything else is absolutely laughable. No-one makes a FF look good they do it themselves. Fev's a perfect example with the non-delivery he's had for years with 4 blokes hanging off him. Still kicked goals and won a Coleman in a wooded spoon team. Blows the argument out of the water further. Maybe the Lions should sack Jono Brown and put Joe Bloggs there if all you have to do is feed them and they kick goals. It's cheaper  . Bulldogs certainly didn't make a point of chasing tall players for nothing this year.

Still a poor argument? Care to re-think your post?

I know that today, Fev was to meet with Richard Pratt to discuss his contract.

Has anyone heard any whispers?

Must be a slow new week, but it is all over SEN and will be on the news how fevola is no closer to signing his contract.

Whats the go ? Has there been a change, we were hearing over the last couple of days that he was signing or has signed ?

I watched the news, basically he said the same old line he always says.

Leaving it up to his managers, it will sort itself out. He wants something sorted out sooner rather than later. He is a blue man and hopes it stays that way.

Josh, Synbad anything to add. Is the contract done or close to being done ? I reckon the media is crapping on again, as no-one appears to be saying anything different.

Guys,

Channel 10 news yesterday...
Reporter asked Fev at the "triple Zero heroes" ceremony that he was patron...
"Is there any truth to the rumour that Richard Pratt has offered to fly you around as part of the contract deal?"

Fev says "What?" laughs..."No there is no truth to that at all"

Channel 10 on sports tonight
"and it's believed that Richard Pratt has offered to fly Fev around as part of his new contract deal"...as if it's a done deal.

In most circumstances, that would be bordering on libel ....but then again we are talking about sports journalism.

Dont listen to the anti-Carlton media, the same thing was happening with the Judd deal last year.

Every media outlet had him going to Collingwood

How pathetic was that?!!?  Its not the first time it has been reported either. I think the faecal dribbler (aka C.Wilson) also mentioned that the jet might be a component of our offer previously. And the f-sticks at AFL house found this so believable that they even sought clarification from either Swann or Icke! There as dumb as the journos!!! The thing is that it would constitute something of value provided by the club (and related parties) and would need to be included under the TPP but it has never been part of the negotiations. Just another example of the deplorable sports journalism in the country and AFL in particular. It’s disgraceful really! :garthp:

The Footy Show needs a story tonight and next week and the week after...
Fev needs to keep up his high media profile... :)
