As for Elliott - it'd be nice to think that he might put the club first and shut the flower up but I'm over wishing it's going to happen. Most clubs have a resident buffoon or two. It doesn't matter how long it is since they've played the game, been on the board or whatever. These are the guys who just can't shut the flower up and let their club get on with it. They're the usual suspects the crap end of the media run to when they want to beat up a story.
Hardly Elliott's fault - that the media stick a microphone under his nose for a comment.
First rule of journalism 101 (thats journalism 101 (integrity) - not the stuff, Wilson, Smith et al spout) is corroborate your story with credible sources.
Having Elliott comment on Carlton stories is a reflection on the journalist writing the story and the media outlet publishing it, who are pandering to the lowest common demoninators who will lap it up - "bogans and no shows"
