Some people on this site, seriously hang around for Carlton to LOSE a game so that can swoop in a drown this site in negative crap.
Or look for an excuse to support their own agenda. ie, sack the coach.
If thats what they think is best then they are aloud to say it.
I think many of you have had the same thought but wouldn't dare bringing it up
So after 10 weeks, if you are thinking that the coach should be sacked, you seriously have no idea.
Don't speak for everyone Melvin.
Why don't you start a new thread with a poll - titled After 10 Weeks, Should Brett Ratten be Sacked as Coach of the Carlton Football Club and see how that goes instead of assuming otherwise?
its actually 16 weeks and a preseason...
but no i dont want a sacking if it can be helped.. i want the deficiencies addressed... cos kicking in and basic game set ups are basic things for a coach ....
its not like we are asking ratts to win a premiership... just steps..
now did he say we needed the geelong smashing or something???
why did we need another smashing????
sure we can get smashed i have no worries with it.. but we needed it???
and i dont want to be smashed cos players dont do the fundamentals...
if we had a platform to work from and doing all the basic stuff.. and we got smashed by the better team fair enough..... but we are not doing basics... and that concerns me..
You didn't like Ratts last 6 games of 2007?
On the one hand you say kicking in is basic, and then on the other, not eveyone should be able to take the kick in.
It's either basic or not.
I am not privy to the inner workings of the club, but if he thinks we needed a hit around the head, then I am not going to argue with him.
Perhaps they were getting ahead of themselves and thinking that someone else would get the ball for them.
Did it appear to you on Saturday night, that they were thinking that someone else would go and get the ball for them?
Perhaps they were thinking easy peasy. Maybe they needed a reality check. And they got it.
We lack the basics because after all these years, maybe some of the players are not prepared to bust a gut to get from the crap we were for 5 years to being a more respectable team that is expected to win more games in 2008.
We have shown the basics in games throughout the year.
We have yet to sustain it for longer periods. That does not show a lack of coaching, but rather a lack of concentration and an understanding of what is required.
And if you tell me that, the lack of understanding is in the coaches domain, I will hit you.
There comes a time when it falls to the players to do what they know has to be done.
