I'd like to know TC'ers opinions on this.

After four seasons Russell Ohlsen was delisted/cleared from the Blues in 1978? What was your opinion at the time?

Yeah too slow J, did okay at the Pies, but a wet tracker lacking in skill. Copped a nasty elbow from Keogh in 79. Bit like that C'wood guy who won the Anzac medal and then went to the Saints and was delisted, what was his name?

Still in those days you didn't have to delist anyone. You could have a 100 on your list if you wanted. How long would Scotty Howell stay on the list these days, yet he played in a premiership.

PS I think J Russell is improving, very promising on the weekend. I'll forgive him a few errors when he brings intensity and tackling to his game as he did.

agree with gerry ...

we had the luxury of a group of young, exciting, skillful, fast, hard mids coming through.

The similarities are spooky: Russell Ohlsen/Jordan Russell.

They both have Russell as a name.

It's bound to happen, it's almost fated.

Jordan Russell is another poor high draft pick no different from Luke Livingston/Murray Vance/Kriss Massie. should be delisted.

he should have been sacked last year!!!!

This is a guy who wanted to go back home, no one wanted him so he stayed at a club who didnt have any better. NOW WE DO!

He doesnt bring anything to the tabel, no speed, cant tackle, cant kick, cant handball, cant tag. What is the guys purpose in our team when we are suppose to me moving forward.

Id take Jackson or Armfield over him any day.

Well spotted.

Kris Massie has been a complete flop everywhere else, hasn't he?

Delisting a bloke with leaves up his bum should be an easy decision

If Russell played better we would "leave" him alone.

4 YEARS IN THE SYSTEM... 4 FREAKIN YEARS and what has he done? Where is the improvement? I understand the kids had it hard regarding confidence with Pagen but CMON...

This is meant to be the new Carlton where we're moving forward and that should mean not playing people like Russel, Sadington, Ackland, Wiggins and Bentic.

Time to start playing guys like Armfield, Browne, Jackson, Austin, both the Irish boys, Anderson, Benjamin. We need to know now what these kids can do because this isnt the year for the Premiership, that will hopefuly come in 2-4 years and if w play em now then come 2010 they will be playing there 15th game (atleast) not their 1st or 2nd.

THE BEST WAY FOR THEM TO LEARN IS TO GIVE THEM A GO ON THE BIG STAGE!

find a stats site somewhere and have a look at Fevs first 4 years and Simpson only really started to blossum about half way through his fourth year - then take a look at Hadleys and Waites , Ohalpins - give him time he is getting better

Your not seriously comparing russel to Waite and Fev are you??? Fev showed signs of being a gun forward, Waite showed sign of a super athlete and Ohalpins have shown more improvement in their time at the club then Russel.

I am not the person who wants to delist guys for a few bad games, i say delist someone after 4 bad years and shows no signs of improvement and dont forget he was a top 10 pick.

Back to your hilarious comparisons, Simpson showed us he can run and tackel and in time he would be an asset.

let me aks you, what has Russel showed us in his 4 years???????? I really want your opinion on this.

I really do not understand you guys. Jordan Russell is young and believe it or not some young guys take time to come on. Not all are ready to go in season 1, 2 or 3.

Josh Fraser took ages to arrive to his full potential, Jordan Russell seems to get better each week he plays.

Yes he makes errors and needs to eliminate them from his game, but he does add intensity, leg speed and every week seems to get a couple of guys caught holding the ball. I am seeing improvement in him even if it is taking time.

People seem to be a lot more patient with Walker. I know he is injured but i do not believe he has lived up to his potential yet and he is a poor user of the footy.
