The problem with both these guys is they're too slow for the modern game. We can use one of them on the field at any one time, but not 2.
Ideally we'd have Grigg/Anderson/Benji in the department of defence. Much faster stronger (when
developed) and bigger tanks.
I agree. The problem is not Scotland and Houlihan. They are both clearly in our best 22 and Scotland has just about been in our best 3 for 4 years. However, the Scotland, Houlihan, Carazzo combination are not quick or defensive enough back up for Judd,Stevens, Gibbs & Murphy. I put a lot of the blame on Ratten over the last few weeks for picking Bannister who has no future despite playing ok, instead of developing Grigg, Jackson or Andersen. One of them at least should be in the 22 and given a permanent development run with role so they can take the position of Scotland, Houlihan and Carazzo
Thirded. I looked at Andrew Lovett burning up and down the G the other night and all I was thinking was where the hell is Benji?? Why isn't he being played?
I don't care if he's not ready. Lovett wasn't ready when he started. He used to spray kicks all over the shop. Sheeds didn't care, he just told him to go out there and run fast. Break the lines. Excite the fans and make the opposition nervous. And now a few seasons later, he's a genuinely dangerous player cause he's starting to finish well at the end of those breathtaking runs.
I'd be trying to develop one of our genuinely quick players in the team. Put him in and tell he you're not dropping him all season so he should back himself. Seems to work for Hawks and Pies. What our problem?
