FFS seriously we are all pole-vaulting mouse turds here. If this incident has highlighted to anybody that Fev is a drunken DH or has come as any great shock then I'd like to welcome you back the free world from your recent internment in Nth Korea!!!
Here's a little pearl of wisdom from old uncle 2nd, if you are planning on having Fev as a role model and werent deterred by the: fire extinguisher, international rules, Lara Bingle, undone bootlaces, 60 in a 40 zone, yelling at team-mates, running through opposition huddles, footy show or recent urination incidents then you might as well keep him as a role model because you're probably cut from the same cloth.
Folks, lets just accept Fev because this is what he is like. He aint going to change no matter if he is suspended or not. He'll toe the line for 5-6 weeks, tell all and sundry that he has rediscovered the important things in life and then bam he'll be back on the front page again. Nature of the beast. The club should have a minder following him around because as far as I can tell Fev cant keep control of Fev so how on earth is the leadership group going to do it.
In the meantime lets not let all of the so-called footy experts who oscillate between telling wild stories about their exploits in the beer sodden 80's and pontificating the moral high ground of today where players should supposedly spend their private life in gymns and monasteries tell us what to do.
Yeah its untidy, yeah he shouldnt have done it, yes he is an idiot and a DH, yes he needs to be punished to remind him of this, but lets not leave our most dangerous forward out of the team just to appease the general football community.
Fev's been suspended before and it worked for a while but we are back here now. S. Johnstone at Geelong is the great example often used but his soujourn in the magoos didnt stop him managing to drive at triple the speed limit in January this year. Let Fev play as this is the only path of redemption for the man. Leaving him out to appease the football mafia in the press makes no sense at all. Has anybody checked to see if it was Terry Wallace buying him beers????
This is a pretty good post, why suspend him? As you point out, it is a characterlogical issue and punitive action doesn't help....if we the club and Brendan are serious about altering his behaviour then a suspension to appease the football community is a joke....to change such characterlogical problems the club psychologist would need to get him some psychotherapy

Probably still wouldn't help
He probably meets most of the diagnostic criteria for anti-social personality disorder, hence it is a clinical issue. Won't be fixed by a few weeks on the sidelines.
