Small potatos.

As I mentioned if Samuels had the guts and intestinal fortitude for a real investigation - he could go after the cartels that rip off the Australian Public to the tune of BILLIONS of dollars per year - retail/oil.

Obviously the executives at Woolworths and Coles are made of higher moral fibre than those of Amcor and Visy.

I'm thinking that perhaps Samuels is executing Evans' dying wish

"Destroy the Carlton football club"

Getting back to the charge of "bringing the game into disrepute", I, in my former life dealt with this at a high level in another sport. Trying to actually define what constitutes bringing the game into direpute is a minefield!

They may be able to find Cousins guilty but I think they would be on thin ice as he technically has not done anything illegal with all of this drug business. He has a "health issue" which is hardly grounds for bringing the game into disrepute. The only thing none of us know are the contract conditions of being an AFL registered player (unless someone does). The media claims he has underworld connections, he did run away from a booze bus but that has been dealt with, he was arrested in Perth in the middle of the day but the charges were dropped. Give Cousins a good legal team and the AFL could have one arm tied behind their back.

When it comes to Sir Richard - lets face it - he ripped us all off but has now paid close the highest penalty he could under the law - in fact the penalty was exactly what the ACCC recommended. However, none of this can be linked the bringing the game of AFL into disrepute. If he had of come out and said that "the AFL and the Commission are sea hunts" or attacked Samuels by saying "he is still hung up about his days with the AFL and is still trying to bring us down with his connections inside AFL HQ" then he would have a case to answer.

As for the media, they are just a bunch of ego chasing tosspots. The amount of times you give them a press release with all the vital information on it and they still manage to flower it up is amazing. What is that saying....never let the truth get in the way of a good story.

Dick hasn't ripped me off. I reckon considering what he's done for my club, I'm well ahead.

As for the 19,400,000 Australians who DON'T barrack for Carlton. Well, in the immortal words of Stephen Kernahan, @#$%&! 'em.

An example would be if you employed someone at a bank, or some financial institution, and while they worked for you it was discovered they had committed serious fraud in the past. Yes it happened, in the past, but you wouldn't keep them on.

While a little unsure, I would like to see a quiet handover soon.

My understanding is that the cartel was between 2001-04. Therefore it wouldn't current anyway.

Well lets be fair here and identify an organization that has ripped off nearly every AFL Supporter and Member that walks into a stadium that it caters for and that is:

SPOTLESS CATERING - and its erstwhile MD and CHAIRMAN RON EVANS

No mention from the Sporting Media about Ron's fitness to hold a position as AFL Chairman while ripping off the sporting public - with blatant PRICE GOUGING.

500 Ml Bottled water - Spotless Cost Price 50cents - Sale Price $4.00 - the 800% mark up would be justified because

I reckon its $4.90.

They can't charge him with bringing the game into disrepute. We are attracting sponsors, fans and starplayers like there's no tomorrow. There is no disrepute.

While we are at it.

Why dont we ask the question of Spotless Catering how it came to buy small time catering company in Western Australia called Mustard Catering which held the catering rights for Subiaco Oval BEFORE anyone knew that the AFL was going to move all AFL games to be played in Western Australia to Subiaco Oval rather than splitting the games between the WACA and Subiaco.

How would have Spotless Catering got the inside running on that deal.

I guess we'll never know.

Did you ever think of asking the hard question to your colleague on that one Graeme Samuel???

Why didn't you just ask a Spotless Executive to dob his boss in on that one and offer the gormless turd immunity from prosecution???? - That always works doesnt it Graeme????

Even if Ron didn't know anything about it - he would be responsible wouldnt he. As Chairman and MD he is ultimately responsible.

Bringing the game into disrepute.

INDEED!!!

AGRO,

seems these issues can disappear if need be.

What's Rick Lewis...former investigator doing nowadays?...he disappeared very quickly after saying that he knew about the WCE drugs tapes but was asked not to take it further....then suddenly Poof! (just like magic!)

bring on the commission hearing ..... more than happy to see Andy D and the AFL deal with real players like Pratt ... might expose the simple fact that the psuedo legal system of the league is no match for the real thing.

Might just open the can of worms on restraint of trade once and for all ....

once Andy D is legally neutered and without his organ grinder, he might just realise who his friends really are

And clearly Ron Evans was phoney, fraud, rip-off merchant, corrupt and a liar.

Surely it is up to the carlton members to decide whether Dick has brought disrepute onto the club. As an non-elected director , I would imagine he'll be up for election at the next AGM. Its our call.

Visy & Amcor were both guilty of price fixing. Both companies made a shitload of money.

One squealled like a stuck pig.....the other got fined $36 mill.

Pratt's association with the Blues Revival has made him a tall poppy of the highest order.

Can anyone name the other guilty party's CEO??? Nobody cares.

Dick stuffed up.....Dick paid his $36 mill.....end of story!!!

Yep....I saw that....that the AFL will make Pratt face the AFL Commission as early as tomorrow....(yeah right.... ) to face a charge of bringing the game into disrepute; and for not being a fit person to head an AFL Club......

I can't recall hearing that Pratt has been summoned to appear before the AFL Commission at next Monday's meeting as reported by Channel Eddie.
Might happen on Friday

Or would this be another Ch 9 beat up :?

As someone who has better knowledge than anyone on here about the ACCC investigation that has left Richard Pratt with a big fine and a bigger one on the way and will tarnish Amcor as a badly run company who will pay a bigger price than most 'whistleblowers' - it's amazing how accurate some people have been on this site! Well done!
