That should be Carlton money.

Pocket money for Pratt, I'm guessing.

He'd scrounge that up from the loose change in the centre console of his private jet.

what ramifications could this if any have on our club.

with the pub deal going down and now this why have i got this feeling things aint as rosey as they seem.

i mean, we made a profit this year due to hand outs (2.2 million) from the AFL and 2 million from the raheen fund raiser and im sure a few more have been tipped.

the redelopment has yet to begin, been in the pipe line for over 2 years

i am gratefull that the club is in a much better position and with smorgy gone alot has gone on.

but i just got this bad feeling for some reason especially when your president has been found guilty of price fixing (which i know goes on in the business world)

i just dont hope it tarnishes some of the so called 'announcements' to be made in the future.

We did have a previous president that had no remorse whatsoever, even in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Now we have a President who is prepared to admit blame. and take responsibility.

Price fixing in this manner is a form of theft from consumers. Around $700 million creamed off the top from consumers of cardboard boxes and packaging - many of which were companies.

Shouldnt be seen as connected with football, but will be a hard to remove stain on his reputation - Id say that Richard needs Carlton to help in the slow rehabilitation of his standing. A successful Carlton in the near to medium term would speed this process up a fair bit.

I wonder if Caltex, Mobil and BP are gonna be hit with a fine for their admission of Price Fixing......................... I HIGHLY DOUBT IT!

If Cardboard boxes were taxed, NO DOUBT Pratt would have escaped with barely a warning!

It's not a #%*! disgrace at all...you need to distance yourself from Richard Pratts associattion with the Carlton Football Club and take it on the chin like he is. It was a bad move by him and his executives and whilst I believe their claim in that they were hoping to take advantage of Amcor - they didn't think of how this could backfire on them in a big way.

Now that it has backfired - it's the class action lawsuit against Visy that's going to sting a little bit. With regard to Petrol companies and price fixing - the ACCC can only do so much...it becomes an issue for the courts to decide at the end of the day if indeed it gets that far.

Is this all related to the Carlton Football Club - no. Will it affect us going forward - i think not. We've all been witness to the swift stamp he has placed on the Carlton Footy Club and i for one am keeping notes that stretch many pages - it's entitled "Richard Pratt and the Carlton Football Club - How to leave a Legacy - Part 1"

I heard the laws have changed recently regarding what Mr Pratt company is charged for.

If he was convicted of the same offense this year he could face a jail term. So I think if he is found guilty he will more then happily pay it.

I think he should have copped a much bigger fine. In America he'd be in jail.

No..................I'm sorry............but it IS a @#$%&! DISGRACE!

Pratt - Guilty of Price Fixing - $30million fine
Caltex - Guilty - $0 fine
Mobile - Guilty - $0 fine
BP - Guilty - $0 fine.
etc etc etc etc............

That = A @#$%&! DISGRACE!

I read somewhere that Pratt's price fixing could have potentially cheated business out of (Maybe) $700million.
BLOODY HELL..................... That's a fair bit!!!!!!

That's ALMOST as much money as petrol companies take off consumers each @#$%&! week!

My grandma used to say "What's good for the goose....................."

Sadly, not in this situation (or so it seems)

$36 million dollar fine.

Chicken feed next to the $300 million class action which Pratt will now face.
