We dodged a bullet with this one I reckon.
With you there.
I am concerned that Josh Kaplan, whose sources are good, still reckons he was over the line a month or so ago. Just confirms misgivings many of us have about the 'process' Carlton continues to follow. How could we have a guy who is equivocal about the club and coaching, over the line. Shades of Mal Blight at the Saints, except he had proved he could coach and had experience, he just had to be begged to take the job.
Don't think Vossy comes out of this very well at all. The immaturity in his , 'love to coach', 'not sure make me an offer', 'don't want to coach' approach indicates clearly that he doesn't at present have the required qualities. So why was Carlton so keen?
If he was 'over the line' if he wanted it then I am still really worried about how we are going about this.
Then again Vossy may have read TC and realised the wisdom of several of the opinions expressed here....

After reading between the lines I think one can make a distinction (clear or otherwise) that we'd essentially anticipated Voss' likely availability and said "we've baggsed him". I guess that is as close to signing someone up before looking into it too hard, but it could also have been a pro-active club going out there and chasing talent without giving any guarantees either way.
We may have dodged a bullet, we may have missed the bus. Only our good friend The Fullness-Of-Time can answer that one.
What is becoming clearer, to my eye at least, is the willingness and brashness of the club in chasing what it wants. The club is almost DEMANDING what it wants, or so it seems.
With Kouta's words from his retirement to the effect that once this club is back on it's feet and pumping ...
you wouldn't want to be anywhere else ... I, for one, am getting just a wee bit excited at what will transpire over the next few years, both in the immediate short term and into the future. Well into the future
In the past few years we've often thought/claimed/hoped that Carlton is starting to turn things around. This time, I think we actually have.
