Spot on Scotty,
I am sick to death of supporters wanting us to get beat so we get a priority pick.
Get it together people, losing games does more long term damage than you realise, it saps the spriit & fight out of people it is devisive & goes against every principle that sport is based on.
We need the "Carlton" spirit reinjected into the place & losing is NOT the Carlton way.
As far as I am concerned they can shove their PP as far up their asses as it will go, I want my team to win or give everything they have got trying.
A truckload of No:1 draft picks does not make a successful club, look at St Kilda, got a heap of them but couldn't find their way to a grand final with a bloody GPS system.
One of the best players I have ever seen James hird went in the 70's if I remember, so there is no guarantee that a PP will be a champion.
we need to shed this flower loser mentality & remember who we are & what we are & just keep working hard to rebuild the fabric of this club.

It's like these people think of the players as robots or something, and that we need to do everything we can to make sure we get our mitts on the new and improved "AFL player ver 6.0", even if it means having our current crop of robots performing below par. So we get this new and improved robot, and then we turn the dial on our other robots back to maximum performance, give them a grease and oil change, and everything will fall into place like dominoes.
Newsflash: They're not @#$%&! robots. They're human beings, with feelings and a little thing called CONFIDENCE. Once confidence gets shot to pieces, it's VERY difficult to get it back again, and I can guarantee that after one week after another of being behind after 2+ hours (plus a week of training) of effort and commitment, the last thing these guys will be thinking about is "Well, at least I'm adding to the greater good" or "At least I'll be a decent player when our new #1 gets here". They're thinking "Wow, I embarassed myself in front of all these people today" or "If only I could kick straight, or not panic under pressure all the time".
Compound this negativity on top of itself and you'll not only have your current batch of players collapsing under the weight of their own doubt, but you'll be bringing another 2 or 3 kids into that culture, with their teammates already defeated in their minds and looking at these poor kids (who already have the weight of the world on their shoulders) as though they should be the ones to save them.
It's bullshit.
