Didn't ask whether you think we'll win....didn't ask if you're going to watch it.

Tell us how you'll feel if we win!

worst list in the comp?

second worst in the comp?

not the worst but no depth?

dermott is a d....head?

who gives a rats. after watching the game finally from saturday via the afl web site, we are reeking something shocking.

I don't care how our list rates or where we sit on the ladder.

What irks me more than anything is that we lack very cheap ingredients that a draft will never give you.

PRIDE
PASSION
COMMITTMENT
CONFIDENCE

I've never seen these things in a draft. Can we compare these to another club.....who knows, I aint the doctor.

In front of so much last saturday.....we had so little and lacked so much.

On a positive note, it is all upside from here and i look forward to the journey. I don't care about anyone else's list, commentators or other teams supporters.

We'll get there no doubt, there'll just be a few tears along the way and a few more slangs between BM and Synbad.

Go Blues

For a hint... why dont you read my signature about what i think is important.

Would you be rapt to win 5 1/2 games and finish 3rd last???

No, ill be watching the development of the future of the Carlton Football Club.
Id be watching what Wlker does, Eddie and Simmo.. how Bentick goes.etc
The scoreboard doesnt concern me.
Of course i want to be thrilled by Fev... not too much.. none of the stuff he got up to last year to make us look like were an ok team....Fev gives me heart attacks...
I hate that Fev can make the whole team look better...and suck us in.. much like when Kouta singlehandedly had us competing for a GF in the last 90s and 2000.... and we thought we can bring in OReilly an Mansfield to win a premiership.
thats just severe overestimating where youre at.

I dont think were in a position to be overestimating where were at....
Our percentage tells us to not be.
seen our percentage Brad???
It just screams "WERE SHIT AND WE NEED HELP!!!" out to you.. if you have yor ears open.........

Our percentage isn't totally reflective of our performances this season.

Losses so far

20
20
19
85
70
18 (Should have been 80)

3 blowouts, 3 losses of 3 goals. The blowouts have come with confidence down and against better opposition.

You're right about us having poor percentage and that being more of a concern than number of wins and losses...but you can't simply look at it in isolation.

How does that work?

Our percentage is probably the only true reflection of our performances available. It has to be. It says 2-3 blow outs, 3-4 3 goal losses and 2 wins and a draw.

If we'd been pumped 9 times it'd be a whole lot worse.

As for this endless debate in 75 threads about who's a good supporter, who's a bad one, who barracks for Richmond, who doesn't give a @#$%&! etc etc.

Who cares?

One group wants us to tank games (as if we need to try). Another thinks that pride, commitment, respect and many other Grant Thomasisms ("It's not my job to engage in tactics, my job is to create the right attitude... ) would make all the difference. I think you're all wrong and possibly all partially right.

Surely the only question worth asking at the moment is where do we go from here?

We have a group of older players who play for themselves (Kouta excused based on recent performances) a group of kids being offered no leadership who are handy and who will make good AFL footballers without being superstars of the AFL and absolutely stuff all in between bar Brendan Fevola.

More handy footsoldiers will not fix where we're at. Every premiership team has up to 5 guys who are handy without being stars. Put 22 of them in a side and they'll be shit too.

We need elite talent and there is only one way to get that. Lots of good picks. I'm not actually overly fussed about picks 1, 2, 3 etc. What is important is that you get a number of very good young players.

We need a major injection of real talent and that means at least three and preferably four picks in the top 20 of this year's draft.

So how do we get them?

Well obviously we're going to qualify for two for finishing low on the ladder. Another has to be a priority pick. Our only other chance is a trade but as we don't have much to offer and won't be trading Fev it might have to be Lance and our third and fourth rounder for pick #16 or thereabouts.

That'd give us four potentially gun kids.

There's no reason a scenario like that precludes us from playing with courage and commitment.

Give me 22 honourable 1 point losses with picks 1, 2, 16 and 20 over 5.5 wins, a bunch of blowouts and picks 5, 16, and 22 anyday.

I want us to think long term. There's no point having a fire sale that makes you feel good for a week if it screws your livelihood the following 6 months.

I'm not at all depressed at the prospect of the CFC receiving a priority pick - I welcome it - we need it. I'm depressed at the half-arsed attitude of a number of our senior players. I want them to pull their fingers out of their arses and play good football. I want the kids to be shown some leadership and I want a priority pick and a bunch of other good picks. I want to see Lance be a world beater or piss off. I want to see senior players like Campo dropped to the reserves when they take a dive a metre from the action instead of laying tackles.

I want it all!

Brian May wrote that one.

Seriously GWS, some good points there. I too would prefer competitive efforts and a loss over non-efforts like the last few weeks and blowouts intersparsed with the odd win here and there. We wouldn't deserve the wins, and hence we wouldn't deserve the bad picks. If we won no more games but played like we gave a stuff for the full 4 quarters, well I'd be pleased. If we play like we did for two and a half quarters on Saturday and fluke a few wins, I'd be rather pissed.

The only problem with that is, it's just not going to happen. It's good in theory, but does not take into account what losing does to people's sate of mind.

So according to your logic youre saying that were not that bad because we ONLY get smashed 1 out of every 3 games.. win two out of nine games.. and not beat anyone 7 out of 9 games....we have 10 points from a possible 36. ,,percentage of under 80...

Have you had your temperature checked????
