Our percentage isn't totally reflective of our performances this season.
How does that work?
Our percentage is probably the only true reflection of our performances available. It has to be. It says 2-3 blow outs, 3-4 3 goal losses and 2 wins and a draw.
If we'd been pumped 9 times it'd be a whole lot worse.
As for this endless debate in 75 threads about who's a good supporter, who's a bad one, who barracks for Richmond, who doesn't give a @#$%&! etc etc.
Who cares?
One group wants us to tank games (as if we need to try). Another thinks that pride, commitment, respect and many other Grant Thomasisms ("It's not my job to engage in tactics, my job is to create the right attitude...

) would make all the difference. I think you're all wrong and possibly all partially right.
Surely the only question worth asking at the moment is where do we go from here?
We have a group of older players who play for themselves (Kouta excused based on recent performances) a group of kids being offered no leadership who are handy and who will make good AFL footballers without being superstars of the AFL and absolutely stuff all in between bar Brendan Fevola.
More handy footsoldiers will not fix where we're at. Every premiership team has up to 5 guys who are handy without being stars. Put 22 of them in a side and they'll be shit too.
We need elite talent and there is only one way to get that. Lots of good picks. I'm not actually overly fussed about picks 1, 2, 3 etc. What is important is that you get a number of very good young players.
We need a major injection of real talent and that means at least three and preferably four picks in the top 20 of this year's draft.
So how do we get them?
Well obviously we're going to qualify for two for finishing low on the ladder. Another has to be a priority pick. Our only other chance is a trade but as we don't have much to offer and won't be trading Fev it might have to be Lance and our third and fourth rounder for pick #16 or thereabouts.
That'd give us four potentially gun kids.
There's no reason a scenario like that precludes us from playing with courage and commitment.
Give me 22 honourable 1 point losses with picks 1, 2, 16 and 20 over 5.5 wins, a bunch of blowouts and picks 5, 16, and 22 anyday.
I want us to think long term. There's no point having a fire sale that makes you feel good for a week if it screws your livelihood the following 6 months.
I'm not at all depressed at the prospect of the CFC receiving a priority pick - I welcome it - we need it. I'm depressed at the half-arsed attitude of a number of our senior players. I want them to pull their fingers out of their arses and play good football. I want the kids to be shown some leadership and I want a priority pick and a bunch of other good picks. I want to see Lance be a world beater or piss off. I want to see senior players like Campo dropped to the reserves when they take a dive a metre from the action instead of laying tackles.
I want it all!
