Considering we poached the worlds greatest CEO from the filth,i was wondering ,does anyone know what he's up to?
He was widely atribbuted to the filth's off field success,but what does he have in store for us? Any input/goss/theories welcome.

i think this silence is great. It says to me that right now everybody is eaxamining the club and its state - forget the hype, i mean the reality - discussing with existing sopnsors their long term goals, looking at the clubs directions, analysing the differences between the Pies and us, and looking at ways of improving the football team.

They are leaving Pagan to run his race. 8 - 10 wins is what he needs to get to survive. Of you go Denis - that's your target.

Right now they are letting the football team do the talking (a pleasant change from the past few years) and the off field boys are quietly going about their business.

You could ask the same question about any of the other 'recruits' we have got, and I think the answer will be the same: looking, listening and learning.

The Plans are being formed and the succesful foundations being laid. It just takes time for concrete to cure....

I got a call from someone at the Club a few months back (I won't be more specific as to their position or anything)...

and I asked this person how the feeling at the Club was. It was about a month after Greg Swann had started. He told me that the first thing Swann did was to implement a staff meeting, and that staff meetings were now scheduled on a regular basis. Apparently this had not been a feature of the Malouf days, and the person I talked to claimed that even this small action was significantly improving morale. He claimed that the staff really trusted and believed in Greg Swann.

Anyway, it is only a little thing... but just thought it slightly answered the question.

As far as I know, Swann has also removed all of the Director-led sub committees which had an executive nature to them and basically made them his responsibility ie IT, membership, history etc.

The Directors are now true non-executive Directors whose job it is to promote the brand, the Club and fund-raise.

The management now manages the Club. Im sure Swann will need extra resources to assist him but it now looks like the Club has a proper executive structure.

I'm not about to denigrate any of the Club's Directors or staff at this point in time. Wilson was voted back in and that's history now.

For what it's worth, there was a hell of a lot of work being done in the background by the Directors on all range of matters; historical sub-committee, marketing sub-committee, IT sub-committee etc. We had a hard working group of Directors committed to the cause and committed to the Club. For example, about 5 Directors were interested in working out the best way to utilise the Blueseum not just in 2007 but in the future, with cross-overs into the PP redevelopment (potentially?) and a broader internet presence. Those Directors have now, apparently, been re-directed out to a pure non-executive role. From a distance that is how it should be.

Having worked across from the Club for a while I always felt as though management was understaffed and short-handed. My suggestion was that without the executive role of the Directors, Swann may need some extra resources to fill in the gap.

I have to agree that the transition you've described is desirable, and inevitable under Swann. Structurally, it helps to insulate the club from any conflicts at Board level, and that can only be good. Go Blues!!!!
