I really believe that we are in for a sustained period of being at the lower end of the ladder, and this is what I dont and wont accept. Footy is and should be about being competitive every time we go out and play, and I am sorry but I cant remember the last time I ever went to the footy and EXPECTED that we would win. This is to me what St Kilda supporters have had to put up with since they started up as a club, and this is how I am feeling now!!!
Hey BDW, mate, you're in a bad way. You didn't think we could beat Richmond, Essendon*, Brisbane, Collingwood, StKilda or Kangas? Bad luck. I did!
I was ther on Staurday, and for most of the game, let alone before the game, and with even 5 minutes left I thought they could do it with a bit of luck. You know why? They were playing like they could, and the style of footy they play in 2007 shits all over the style they were playing for 97.56% of 2006 season.
You are living in a big black cloud, Slap yourself...it aint that bad.
The glass is half full.
They are kids after all, and you seem to expect miracles. Port have a few All Australians and premiership players playing for them, Hawks are a year or 2 ahead of us, Kangas have a few hardened campaigners to support the kids. Remember that on Saturday it was Shannon Grant and Harvey that nailed us, not the North kids.
We're doing all right. With a bit of luck, a couple of ruckmen, (add Stevens) and a bit more experience and we'll be fine.
BDW, I bet you we are playing finals in 2008/9...and I bet you can't see why we can. Study it...Pagan wont be at Carlton around in 2008/9, but the kids will still be there with another year or 2 under their belt...and a lot more muscle and stamina to boot.
Watch this space and smell the roses...they're coloured Dark Navy Blue.
Now pick yourself up off the floor...you're a Blue Boy...and you should be proud of our kids...because they're going to take you for a pleasure ride of a lifetime.
Let them entertain you.
