As for your claims at being "shot down" about your comments, Ryan, I think you were perhaps ignoring the bigger issues. What you must look at is;
1, that was then and this is now; aside from the fact that we have just been through what should be a successful draft period, you have to judge players on their abilities as they stand if you are talking about the ability to win matches.
2, Carlton’s ability (or lack of) to deal with mediocrity both culturally and in actual practice.
3, the weighing up of raw talent VS talent in key areas.
4, Carlton fans being too close to the side to be able to judge other team lists objectively.
It is very simplistic to come on all hoity and state that we haven’t got a bad list after all. It was certainly very unproductive when our list needed improvement if we are to be a successful side again; it still does by the way.
Yeah that's all cool mate. I just think there may be a bit too much shooting down on ths site latley. Everybody's entitled to their opinion and this forum is the place to have that opinion heard.
I had my opinion half way through the season................and i stand by that opinion, and that opinion was created in defense of the players copping the more than their fair share of the blame for our performances.....although it does appear as thou the blame ratio has shifted somewhat significantly since i said it.
So for me, i will continue to believe in this list and refuse to accept them as so-called 'Z-Graders'.
We haven't really added anything since then. Ackland & Cloke are hardly what you would call superstars & team-changing player and Gibbs is but an 18 year old 3-gamer.
Don't get me wrong, i'm as guilty as the next when it comes to knocking our players from time to time, but as a list in general.......well i just get sick of the constant bagging.
Changing the subject......................
Murphy Vs Deledio is just a bit of a joke really. Don't think either are fully developed enough to start comparing the two.
