Never met Karl, but really disappointed we didn't redraft him. Struck me as a good bloke who was easily led, but pretty honest. And a potential AA in talent (and he could actually kick!). A lost talent. When there was all the talk about getting ZAntuck I was hoping we'd give Karl another chance now he's a few years older. BIt of a shame to see a talent not utilised but still he's probably happy playing up the country.

I guess there's no chance of him getting a chance now RR?

Michael Sexton - A really nice bloke, always had time for supporters, always polite.

David Parkin - A great man who has time for everyone and is always ready to listen. A fountain of knowledge about football and life.

Kouta - A class act

Sticks - would do anything for the club and always does the right things by the fans.

Justin Madden - One of the happiest men alive

For me...hands down its Fev. I've met him a few times..now he refers to me as the Perth girl, but I flew up to Sydney with the boys in round 22 last year (for my bday) and when Fev found out that it was my bday he invited me out after the game drinking with all of the boys. He looked after me and my friend all night...great guy.
Closely following is Jared, Marc, Jacko and Josh

He can be champion person off the field. A few years back I was at the Cox Plate and a few of the Carlton boys were there including Fev. My initial thoughts was that Fev would have been a party boy and go a bit crazy with all the free juice in the marquee.

Anyway, I didn't see him touch a beer, he pushed a disabled person around in his wheel chair all day and also posed for photos for his fans and didn't mind.

He showed he had a big heart.

Peter Dean and Michael Sexton for me.

In 1995 I ran a "super" auskick clinic one day over at Bulleen. SOS, Peter Dean and Michael Sexton attended. It was about 11.00a.m. and the clinic was drawing to a close ... Michael Sexton asked me "what happens now" ... I replied by inviting him over for a sausage and drink to which he replied ... "look, um is it alright if I go ... my parents are my house right now ... they have come down from Bendigo and are wanting to go to the hospital ... my wife gave birth yesterday ... it is our first child and their first grandchild" ... here is a bloke that has probably been up for the best part of 24 hours and still commits himself to the auskick session ... what a great person.

As for Peter Dean ... he rung around till midday and helped me pack up.

Two great blokes ... character on and off the field.

Heard a story about Greg Williams spending time with a sick girl in hospital. The girls father was so impressed with Greg's generosity that he gave him the account for all Kmart's printing.

im really glad i read this thread now. i was only a couple of hrs ago wondering what Hulmey is doing these days. he was my fav for a while. still have the 27 on my back, which unfortunately made me look like a bryan supporter tho i def was not, and now 27 doesn't exist.

Anyway Hoggy, can you let me know what Hulmey is doing post-Carlton? the reason im interested is bc if my memory serves me right, he had a young daughter when he was cut from the list and it would have been a little daunting to lose his income with a young child to support. i hope to hear that all is well in that respect, and im pleased to hear that he was a great guy to talk to.

nicest guys for me: kouta (just a polite gentleman and really down to earth), Ang always very friendly, parko - took my bro, sis and myself into the rooms after training after i gave him a fruitcake cooked by mum. when he went to find sticks he left us standing at the entrance and some official didn;t realise we were invited in and asked us to leave so we were devastated but parkin chased us down again and took us back in to have a chat with sticks and tour the rooms. a funny thing was that he wouldnt let my sis into the back room where most players were coz they'd just showered and were mostly naked. we were familiar faces at training back in those days (by all accounts i was the only vocal supporter there and used to scream out relentlessly to tom alvin who was my first fav player). he was probably thinking "why me??", but it was still good of parko to look after us like that. backwell - had a long kick to kick session with my bro n i at one of the family days, that was really exciting for us at that age.

btw, i occasionally see pearce at You Am I gigs. Ben harrison, colbert and frankie peckett are often there as well. all seem like good guys. and ive also seen tim rogers at kagaroos games. i like it when footy and music (my two passions) are shown to be compatible rather than one being seen as above the other which is most often promoted by narrow minded people(usually musos). rogers often makes a remark about footy while on stage.

I remember him saying to me that he was still playing footy, after I joined the queue of people lining up to buy the bloke a beer.

Was definitely one of my favourites on the list. Never took a backward step that bloke.

See the majory of the team come into the cafe across the road (as I go to uni on the other corner of Royal Parade) for lunch..

I get excited to see them but never want to bother them while they're eating lunch etc

Anyway, had a couple talks with Fev and he's always willing to talk and is great to chat to - it's interesting as people would think he's arrogant but he's always free to chat

A few years back, Karl Norman was great to speak to - a real larrikin (sp?) and after one training session, let myself and mates go into the rooms with him which was great! Ahh he was a laugh...

I won't hold my breath. I don't even know if he is still playing footy; apparently he was pretty good at soccer as well.
