Adam Bentick's number is wrong as they still have it as 40.

Hey Jars (excuse the familiarity, we've never met). I have a $500 Membership. Do I have to pay more to watch game video and highlights on the site? Thanks.

AFAIK Telstra bigpond members can get AFL games, but anyone without bigpond will have to pay for the privilege.

Club memberships do not have any bearing.

Hopefully the site will have some Carlton produced video especially for Carlton supporters soon.

Everyone, keep the suggestions and mistakes you spot coming, I will pass on all the info to the club.

Correct Jars - Bigpond customers get exclusive rights to watch LIVE AFL on their Next G handset (yes, their handset) and/or browser.

The competitive advantage that Telstra has over their competition.

I must admit, it's a good deal as the the site is unmetered therefore doesn't contribute to the monthly download time

It means if you hit the page, download audio/video from the site, it won't count towards your monthly limit, eg 400MB, 1GB, etc (that's of course, if you are on a plan of unlimited access, it's not an issue  ).

But this is for Telstra Bigpond customers only!!!!

probably means that if you are with bigpond the site is unmetered so it's not counted to your download limit.

Thanks for that response Wangers.

Rhys27's guess is the only way I think it could work, because if it is unmetered, in general, then it doesn't matter what your download limitation is, as it doesn't count.

Either way, a very creative idea...but don't ever kid yourself, in the Telco game, someone always has to pay (unless marketing has made a mistake); there's always a cost to the end user, and only a subsidy from the carrier would be offered by the carrier at the very most.

Yeah they rip you off the rest of the time. It also closes you into some of their paid download services for some items as well.

Yeah, well there you go....someone always has to pay....and it's always the end user, by smoke and mirrors. Australian Telco/ Media/ Government has such control over us and our pockets.

It's the supporters/ subscribers/ members that really pay dearly to make this game [AFL] what it is; a billion dollar industry....they bring the sponsors and media rights into their radar, yet someway or another after all is paid and done, it's always the supporters/ subscribers/ members that get asked for another handout.

The AFL may as well be subscribing cigarettes to us; we are addicted to our club in this great game, and then they up the taxes, and we're still addicted. They don't slow down this bottomless pit of B Grade entertainment; they just bend us over and keep giving it to us in such unpleasant ways

Everything is always going up; first it's the ticket prices, then food, then beer, then memeberships, then merchandise, then media, then value adds and then start over again, first it's the tickets, then membership....fully well knowing about our addicted state we're in, in the game we own :?: .....now it's the information about my club they want me to pay for via website access when I'm already paying for access subscription and the rest of the AFL stuff (mentioned above...and sadly, and painfully, it's (maybe just) B Grade.

It's not only about value for money, its more than that, it's about what we know the rest of the world is paying for access to their sport. So this is what they call the egalitarian game; AFL. Bullshit, it aint a commission, it's a corporation running a monopoly. :x

It all sucks and we (if we allow them) are the suckers.

Stuff Telstra and AFL propaganda I say. :!:

Thank god for Talking Carlton, and CFC, otherwise I'd be likely to go cold turkey and pick another sport / addiction that treats me with more respect.

The same thing is also appearing on most other club's sites... problems with the sites seem to be happening right across the board.
