Bondi is this coming from inside info or is it your interpretation of events?
If the inside is defined as the inner sanctum of one of the groups, then the answer is definetely no.
Answer is 'Yes' as far as my take on it, and how I understand how politics works, and taking into considerations what at least one of the potential challenging tickets' strategy....but with regards to the former question (factual), what I can say is...
most TCers already know of at least the Brown group and his comments, so there's one faction, then there's the challenge that posters refer to on this forum, so that's 2, and there was another group of really dusgruntled members that I consider group 3, and probably young Cam would still be out there with his anti Pagan campaign too (only a guess), and surely others I haven't heard of either.
London Blue eluded to a group of very wealthy contibutors putting a reasonable ticket together a few weeks ago, and that's the one I've heard a bit about, including some names...quite impressive in terms of names and numbers, and that the whole offer wasn't quite ready.
What else is there? it seems that theres a ground swell, consensus and cross polination with the main groups...all have the same charter to get this club back to where it belongs, and there's been a few hiccups with non commitments from some of their candidates (that's normal), and new commitments....they are the ones I'm sure Synbad, Kaplan and others refer to....but as for the timing execution, I've heard different to those posters (so may not be the same...just smells of the same sums of money) will be determined when all the ducks are lined up...ie no half arse attempt....and surely one can see last night was not a coup attempt.
If last night was connected to this latter group, then I would dare say my interpretation of the events were just as I said, and I wouldn't be too disheartened by this at all. Hey it may never happen...and that's part of politics too.
I think that Synbad and Josh are correct (from what I've heard) to say that money will come to the club if Smorgon is not President. But before any coup, or attack by stealth on my club, I prefer to see the challenger's offer, their plan and the committment of the sums of money in the public arena for discussion before any coup or challenge happens...
I like democracy and I like a winning plan...and I think this group knows that any change in this club must be done in an honest, above board and orderly manner, because there are a hell of a lot of members that don't want to elect a ticket with a hot headed approach, lacking class that tarnishes the brand. They are the ones that elected Smorgon and support pagan.
