In February 2004 a group of TBV posters, ably lead by Vintage79, arranged a function named …….. ‘The First Bounce’ (TFB).

TFB was attended by 40 or so people and a good night was had by all. A CFC training top (signed by the 2004 playing list, our hero Denis Pagan, and one or two past club legends) was raffled on the night and the esteemed JohnM was the lucky winner. John was a terrific sport and instantly donated it back to TBV to auction off. I believe Queensland Blue was the highest bidder. No doubt he is still wearing it to bed each night.

Myself and Robert Heatley are custodians of the TFB Bank Account. The profit made from the event has remained in the Account since February. The Account requires both our signatures to withdraw any monies.

At this stage there is approximately $550 in the Account.

Let me say right here and now that none of the $550 came via donation. The profit came from the tickets sold, raffles run and Jumper Auction. The $550 is what remained after we paid for the catering of the event.

TFB was always run as a separate entity to any ‘Donation Drive’ previously conducted for Site and Sponsorship fees in 2004.

It was not expected that TFB make a profit. We simply hoped to cover our costs. The $550 was a bonus.

Now to the dilemma. What to do with the money?

I have been discussing this issue with Robert Heatley this past month. With the turmoil over the demise of TBV, we think in the name of transparency, that the TBV community decides where the $550 should be directed. If the money is left in the Account, bank fees will eat it away over time.

Before anyone asks, Deej did not have anything to do with the money collection for TFB or the fact that it has been kept aside waiting for a decision to be made on its usage. To my knowledge Deej has not been aware of the TFB money as he had no input into the running of TFB.

Myself and Robert Heatley have decided to run a simple poll, seeking your vote on the best way to make use of the money.

Here are your ‘Poll’ choices.

1. Donate the Money to a Charity supported by CFC
2. Donate the Money direct to CFC.
3. Sponsor a Northern Bullants listed Player
4. Sponsor CFC player i.e currently under discussion.

Note: Northern Bullants sponsorship is as follows

 Bronze Sponsor

– Player Photo with Sponsor’s name in Social Club
– Sponsorship of Player Locker (inc. 45x20cm framed Sign)
– Sponsor’s personal photo signed by player for display
– 2 Free Annual Membership Tickets
– Sponsor mention on website/network folder
– Sponsor recognition at major social events
– Regular Emails/Letters on Club progress throughout the season

Cost $500 + GST

It has been decided that as there are now 2 sites i.e TC and TBV that the Sponsorship name be known as ‘CFC Internet Communities’ with TC and TBV listed on the ‘Frame Sign’.

The 2 Membership tickets will go to a local Preston ‘Charity’, which will be chosen by the Northern Bullants President.

You have until 4pm May 9th 2005 to decide which of the 4 choices you want.

Please Note: These 4 and only these 4 choices have been listed so that there is no conflict of interest shown between any of the 4 sites. Myself and RH have given this much thought and we realize we cannot please all of the people all of the time.

Please do not come up with 10 other suggestions that will muddy the waters. The money is there to support all things Carlton, NOT personal Agenda’s.

Once a decision has been reached the wheels will be put in motion to follow up on the democratic vote.

Regards Robert Heatley and Cazzesman

PS. This post will be on TBV as well

The work that Glen Bowyer is doing would be worth a donation

Would Rubber Soul "donate" their services??? It could just be casual...like a practice session. That would be fun :) Or maybe just a drum solo?

I have a great idea for a function.

THE MACARTHUR PARK KAROAKE TOURNAMENT

Everyone does their version. The winner has the honor of being the coolest person in the world. Everyone donates $10 to enter.

Spring was never waiting for us girl
it ran one step ahead, as we followed in the dance.....

Now you're talking! :) Instead of 40 people we would get 400.

I think it just has to be a Bullants player in honour of the Cazzes.

There is one! It's known as the Hird trust fund. Minimum $20,000 donations accepted only.

$500 is nowhere near enough.
