In a year where the draft is thick and the free-agents plentiful, the first 'qualifier' for young delisted players would be the quality of the team that they couldn't get into.
If w wanted to place Raso on the Rookie List, I can't see anybody challenging.
Really dismayed with Houla's season in 2006... Was looking for him to step up as a leader - he certainly talked that kind of game in the pre-season. Will be a tough call on whether he is to be retained (if he is uncontracted)... The best option for both parties may be a trade for a 3rd round pick that could maybe be used as a father-son option?
Would love to see him return to the club, as I believe he has great upside and in the right side can be a gun. Unfortunately, by the time we are that team, he may be past his best.
Bentick (on form) should be retained.... Then again, I said the same thing about Brett Johnson.
Bannister & Wiggins are worth retaining - but only because I can't see them getting a game anywhere else. They went OK this year, so why not send him round again.
Lappin could probably hang the boots up or go around for the Bullies. Same reasoning as I gave for Houla - except the 'window' is more ajar than open for his career. Would be nice to reward the guy as he has stuck with us through the tough times, but if there's no room....
The implications of cutting a legacy player (especially for a club that has lost all sense of identity) would be more than enough reason to keep Blackwell... It just so happens that he is capable of earning a spot in our best 22.
What are you saying Lappin,Bentick,Wiggins or Houlihan might be delisted this is no way going to happen. Houilhan wasn't that bad this year, all these guys could be traded but it's likely you would get similiar players,so it's pointless.Brett Johnson was a recycled ordinary player,Adam Bentick is young and just completed a full season, players don't become good untill they reach 80 games.
