Just make sure you don't quantify our improvement, cause we have actually got less points this year than last year.

Fraser Brown did not make his money from the football club. His family, has everyone forgotten who his mother is and her success, run the Grosvenor Lodge Machinery and waste management business.

I dont here people asking Smorgon or Pratt for a lazy 5 to 10 mill

What do you mean "if Pagan can attract"?? It's all about $$$$$$$$$$$$ for these guys, I'm sure anyone would welcome them coming down and helping out with skills and other things around the club if they liked on a non-monetary basis. But they all want "assistant" jobs, and Silvagni has demanded that he is allowed to be the senior coach in two years time?? This is a guy who has done a bit of part time coaching with the dogs and is demanding to be senior coach?? Good on the board for telling him where to go. If SOS can't even score himself an assistants gig at another club how the hell do you expect him to be a successful AFL coach?? Maybe SOS will have to go and coach a SANFL team for a while, would he shift out of Victoria or does he want everything delivered to him on a platter Tim Watson style?

How come the "Carlton" feeling was around in 2004 and after the wizard cup? Wouldn't have anything to do with winning games would it? What happens when these 'greats' come back to the club and results don't improve? We will hear the old "it takes time" and all the same crap we are hearing now.

Pagan should be recruiting the best assistants he can - and they are assistants from other clubs that have been in the system for a while who don't need to be taught everything - Cresswell, Bond, Royal etc who can bring their own ideas and tell us what other clubs are doing.

It's happening - I've been saying this from very early in the year - BT leaked it on Triple M during the year, which I was disappointed about as it was very low key at the time.

I won't post names, as it's not appropriate, but there are influential Carlton people involved.

The recent debacle by current board has certainly not enhanced their chances of staying in office.

This caused quite a stir at the time. Big names involved - perhaps Carlton's biggest.
Let's hope Wangers is on the money.

But in part its because of how well he was looked after when he was here

No his family were very well off before his carlton contacts ever came into play...

Yep This Board must go - and I for one am almost glad they did the great Pagan backflip of 2006 - means now we have a chance that this Board will go and not retian power through sacking Denis.

We must be extremely careful with whatever action we as members of the Carlton Football Club take from here. I, like many of you here was one of the people who voted the old board into extinction & jumped on the collo & Co bandwagon, we were all excited when DP got the coaches job, a couple of people who were mentioned in the Brown article put there names to the carlton one ticket, SOS even sat on the board.

But since then we have had a steady exodus of people from the club starting with Kenny hunter, our current board has very little resemblence to the board that most of us fought so hard to instill.

My question is why, why have all these people who were so passionate gone?

I don't believe the standard lines of business interests etc:

These blokes were so fired up & commited to bringing us back to better days, if that was the case why have they all bailed out BEFORE the job had been finished.

Collo reappointed DP after a who cares cup win, when he still had a year to run on his first contract, massive @#$%&! up imo.

We need a massive clean out at the top, board & coaching panel.

But before we do this we need to discover solid options & put a solid 5 year business & coaching plan into place.

My question is who can we get to make this happen & how can they show us that it isn't all just words, like those who have gone before.

We cannot afford to make a mistake this time as it may finish the club.

there are some big decions to be made & I am not sure that any of us really know what to do

In order to simplify the unsimplifiable, from this point forward there are two worldlines that can be chosen.

One, under the Pagan, will result in a very similar world to that which we have now.

It should be noted however, this 'Pagan world' is one that is ultimately unsustainable and because of the course of events to date, has limited future potential.

However, if a choice for a fresh change presents itself, there are 3 different trajectories into which this new and untried worldline can move into.

1. Our blue world probably won't get worse

2. It probably wont stay the same

- So what do you think the third option is?

For all his faults, Fraser Brown's open and frank comments could be the start of a real chance to create a new Carlton worldline and see it become a reality.

But like all new opportunities, there are risks and there are also potential benefits..

Are we bold enough to sieze this opportunity?

Tommi - say it aint so....alright then, Peter Brock

I think alot of the problems on and off the field stem from the fact that people have become disheartened - nobody can really grasp how deep in the shit we are, and as a club we're not used to having to endure this sort of stuff for such a long time.

As time goes on and nothing appears to change, enthusiasm and the best intentions wane - its hard to keep getting up off the mat.

I'm not sure what the soloution is - I was a big supporter of the new board, but I admit in recent years I'm seeing the same mistakes repeated - but who will come in - who wants to be on our board for teh right reasons?

I'm not a huge fan of past players - without strong business background (Ie fitzpatrick) its more tokenism, and we dont have room for that right now.

I stilll maintain my stance that I prefer pagan to the other options being floated (including mitchell) we've always said it would take at least 5-6 years to see the benefits of the new regime - we've put up with four years of shit so far (in the grand scheme of things 4 years is not that bad -certainly not pleasant, but historically its miniscule)

In my opinion turfing pagan now would be more destabilising than beneficial. we have to perservere - not just give up when something gets too hard.

And please dont patronise me, I too know many players and people within the club - of course they're miserable its a tough job, but pagan isnt there to be their friend, hes there to push them through this. DO you think Leigh Mattthews or Malthouse or Sheedy are soft and fluffy when it gets tough? These kids are getting paid 50K+ per year to kick a piece of leather around, if they cant handle it then they can chose another career

Bottom line is that theres no magic wand or quick fix - much as I would like to see one. I just believe the current course of action with shit flying everywhere with each party trying to push their own agenda is incredibly destrucive - sure the media looks for a bad story - but we dont make it hard for them

no wonder we struggle to attract sponsors when we cant even manage something like this internally.
