I am all for having the statement published and with 5,000 posters at buck each would that be enough.

Just on Jim Wilson and his article today. If he is a fairdinkun Carlton person he should publish the sources of the leaks to him and have the rats driven out of the club for good, who ever it is. This is one of the most unprofessional performances of an organisation that I have ever witnessed.

Go Blues we must stick together.

Without leaks many would never have realised the state of this board's
incompetence. All organisations leak. The way to stop them is to make smart decisions in a transparent manner and then there's nothing to leak.

Good point too true.

Re-read GWS, he's stipulating that this should be in-place for a potential election. :)

Yeah I got that but I want to see the red stuff now!

No time for stuffing around.

They're going to start appointing nuff 1 & nuff 2 pretty soon and then we'll have a coaching panel made up of Denis and the nuff nuffs.

Use your contacts and find some people who won't look like psychotics on a national news service to force the EGM. :)

So do you reckon the statement would be better if it included a timeframe? Maybe elections in the next 4 months and an independent coaching review pannel set up by the new board.

Remember, if it happens too quickly then its only Pagan or only Mitchell and no serious coaching application process. I think we all want a proper process. Can you agree to that?

Happy to add a timeframe if that's what you want.

LETS GET EVERYONE ON BOARD

I'm happy to back the general principles simon but the timing of all this is the problem.

4 months?

By then we're going to have a new coaching panel, possibly new recruiting staff, trading over, drafting over, Michael Gardiner, etc etc.

I want something to happen within two weeks.

That might mean that we end up with Mitchell as coach (who might be fine but I'd prefer a broad search) but it also means that we don't end up with greater damage overall.

They should also be forced to stop blaming it all on the draft penalties that excuse has worn very very thin , yes it hurt but what they are doing now is beginning to make black friday look very insignificant

The only problem with a longer time frame is how we approach the drafting process.

For that Wayne Hughes is the man.

So nothing else really matters. If he is empowered too pick us the best available YOUNG talent, then so be it.

Jim Wilson should run this in the HUN as one of his articles and that would be for free.

I am with you on this - this display by our board is crap.

Yeah, 4 months is a long time GWS. SHould be shorter. 2 concerns - Firstly, what is the maximum time you need to establish an EGM. Secondly, if there's an EGM and coaching changes in Sept/Oct it could affect our drafting/trading.

I think adding timelines will cause too much disagreement amongst us.

Maybe we should stick to the general principles.

Would appreciate everyone's input!

Hey, i'd love it if we were able to change it in 2 weeks also!..

But the fact is, it's not enough time to get the numbers up and the support for a spill of the board..

Theres planning that needs to get done... I'm just as shitty as the next passionate Carlton supporter! I'll seriously consider putting in my 2 bobs worth for change also... I've had enough of this mediocre SHIT board!!

Im thinking you're right on this one!...

The right time would be propably be somwhere around early December...

That way we can organise and get thorough planning happening and the right amount of numbers and potential board candidates so we can make this a success...

Count me in as well Simon. I reckon that Tim Lane would also run the article. Good work btw.

How do TC posters feel about bringing other Blues forums into the fold?

My logic here is with a combination of TC, TBV, CSC and maybe even BF; we might have about 8,000 Members and if the campaign works successfully, we might even attract supporters who aren't members in this time of crisis.

Don't you think that "The CFC Online Community" (of say 20,000 individuals) would have a hell of a lot more clout than just TC?

The thing with something like this is to not get too fussed about making it perfect and having everyone signing off on it... but to get it done while the issue is still media-worthy.

I think we could all dick around with the statement, but the most important thing is the intent behind the statement, not merely the nuances of the wording.

GET IT OUT THERE, AND GET IT OUT THERE QUICK!

Even if we create it as a viral email, and circulate it to everyone we know PLUS the board members, journalists, etc.

I reckon camelboy could knock something together that'd look just perfect, pretty quickly.

THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE BY MONDAY MORNING!

I fully endorse simonv's piece, and suggest the way forward is to create a 'formal' non-word template for it, and get it out there via email.

Thanks JohnM

I actually typed it in Word then pasted it into TC so the formatting is better in word.

I can e-mail it to you if you PM me your address if you want.

good work Simon

count us in for $100 if required

only suggestion I have is if there is an opportunity to get it to the media (news) shorten it, you dont want them selectively using what they want . Rember they will have to fit it into "news"

I have created an online petition that you can use if you wish,

it can be found here: http://www.petitiononline.com/coscpet/petition.html

If you think it is suitable then send it to as many carlton supporters as you know and spread the word.

I love the sentiments.

If you want to get it to NSW based Carlton fans, send a copy to Warren Stratton (was@stratton.net.au), and he'll send it around if you explain what it's about.
