Attended my first Auskick clinic this year on Saturday and was pleasantly surprised with the number of Carlton jumpers being worn (this was in a group of mostly Grade 1s), given that we live in Pascoe Vale which is arguably Bomber territory.

When it came to picking sides for a game, the guy running the clinic decided that as the most two popular jumpers were Carlton and Collingwood, that they would make up one of teams, despite the "sacrilege" of Carlton and Collingwood playing together. This got a bit of a laugh from the onlooking parents!

Wouldn't it be great to be able to give these kids something to cheer about regularly. Carlton have given nothing since 2001. That was 4 years ago!!! :(
We'll get there eventually...

I live in the Templestowe / Dobcaster area which always has been quite a strong Blues area. My boy just started his third season at Auskick and the last 2 seasons I was depressed that there were so few Carlton jumpers out there. However this year there are at least as many navy blue jumpers as any of the other clubs. No idea why but very pleasing to see.

Pascoe Vale is heading towards Oak park, Glenroy, Fawkner, etc areas. Traditionally strong Blues areas as well as for North. Going further out you get Jacana, Broameadows, etc and we picked up one of our greatest in this area.

If you head to the Essendon* Auskick areas well you know who dominates but i've been suprised by the number of bulldog jumpers running around.

Different story here. I took my nephew to Auskick at Koo Wee Rup on Saturday morning.

In his group, Grade 2, out of 10 kids, 7 Essendon*, 1 St Kilda, 1 Carlton, 1 unknown (brown t-shirt).

I'd say out of all the grades there were maybe 45-50 kids and 75% of them wearing Essendon* jumpers.

I grew up around the Pascoe Vale area & it was predominantely Carlton & Essendon* there. In Fawkner where I lived it was Carlton & Collingwood. We always Carlton players visiting for footy clinics at school & I always missed out as I had to do the netball clinics. It's great to see that the tradition is continuing in these areas.
