It's awesome.

Well it is, but now we have a new problem.

Now we have a number clash.

How will be be able to tell Calum Chambers apart from the rest of the players if they all wear this jumper?

I would have thought that would be easy. Chambers would be the one without the ball.

Up on the website too.

http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=259107

When is an appropriate time to suggest the league adopts a standard font for the numbering on the back of all jumpers. Clearly none of the clubs can get it right!

I don't mind the jumper, I certainly think they could have done something better (perhaps using silver?), but it's passable. Conservative, and sure to be the version to ruffle the least amount of feathers. It looked ok on tv.

Paired with the white shorts will be atrocious though - look at Freo and North when they play in their predominantly white guernseys with white shorts. They look ridiculous. Navy shorts would have been a better option.

I also think it's weak of the AFL to not insist the jumpers are worn for all clashes of guernseys - fancy having to wear the jumper against Port (?????) and not Richmond or Essendon*. What is the point of a "clash" guernsey?

Baby steps. ;)

I'll be at Telstra Dome tonight to collect :-D

In fairness though, someone posted a design by The Shag which had the blue monogram. As Shag is too young to drink at the footy I'm happy to drink his beers.

Hey, it's not my preferred, but it will look ok.

Agree with this in a sense, but put it this way, there's no way I'm buying something so boring. And I was looking forward to buying the away strip. It'll sell very badly

people are saying it's boring? which i don't get. if you want something exciting, go and buy some @#$%&! tie die shirts.

this is a footy jumper it's meant to look smart, not 'cool'.

do you find our traditional 1 colour strip yawn boring aswell? how many of them do you have? i have three and love them all. i'll probably buy a white one too and the first chance i get.

it's kept our traditional colours, navy and white. there was no other way a predominately navy strip would get up as a clash jumper anyway. it' still has our CFC monogram on it (albeit the new version).

i'm happy with it, it's conservative and thats the way i like it.

the vomit that half these interstae teams wear these days is a joke. they look like netball strips or something. anyone see adeliade up on the gold coast last week.

PUKE!

I'm happy with it. I don't want an alternative jumper at all but it's being forced and this version is the lest tragic option of all suggested so far. I hope the insignia will be raised however.

Worst jumper model in history. Sporn's complexion and the body of a starving African.

Bloody oath!

A good example of taking to much LSD is that revolting West coast jumper, I mean that is repulsive.

The away jumper is a good solid jumper.

You know what's better than those vertical stripes jumpers? YOUR NAVY BLUE ONE!

Just as I'm not ashamed to admit that I think Richmond have the best song, I've always said you guys have the best jumper. Less is more. It's very classy.

As a supporter of football, I hate that you guys caved. I hate it.

How is wearing a reverse colour jumper going to destroy the fabric (sic) of football as we know it?

I could understand the tearing of hair and the rending of garments (sic) from supporters if we went with purple stripes or a leopard print. But this jumper?

It's still better than those vertical stripes. :-D

Because it's not your jumper. Your jumper is navy blue with a big proud CFC in the centre. The club may as well pulled out the ol' baby blue M&M's one. Or one with purple stripes even. Different is different whatever colours you choose to use.

Carlton used to be such a proud club who stood up to the best of them to protect what was theirs. Is this what happens when you cop a fine and lose a few draft picks? Suddenly you're ready to do whatever is dictated? I'm very disappointed you guys didn't put up a fight against this. It's sad.

For shame Carlton. For shame.

mandy answer me these questions:

Does Carlton still have 16 premierships?
Does Carlton still have a proud history?
Does the AFL own the licensing for all 16 AFL clubs?

You call it caving, and for the life of me I just cannot understand why. It really is not that much of a big deal. Honestly! It's not.

How does this change anything? How does this take away from our history? How does this alter our pride, either as supporters, administrators or players?

It's not caving, it's about having a level of maturity, and security as a club to know that this is a pragmatic and logical progression of the modern game.

If Collingwood fans are so passionate about their sacred jumper why the @#$%&! did they ever let sponsors logos get on them? I'd respect your position a hell of a lot more if you were promtoing that stance too. Otehrwise, I'm sorry, every single club in the league has already sold out … about 25-30 years ago.

Sorry, you guys have been hoodwinked by Eddie's propoganda. There is so much more that makes both Carlton and Collingwood great than the colour or design of their jumper. If only Collingwood fans were able to understand this.

Who's been hoodwinked? I cannot imagine 10-20 years ago ANY supporter of ANY club happy with this move by the absolute greedy decision made by the AFL for no reason more than making money for themselves.

The argument has been made a million times. Why after more than 100 years of competitive Australian Rules football are we all supposed to be so suddenly confused by jumper clashes? Bullshit.

Where would the AFL be, the sponsors be, and indeed the clubs be without their supporters? Maybe hunt down one of the dozen or so "North Melbourne" supporters and ask them. If you're happy to sit back and let these changes be made then good for you. Before you know it you too might be packing your bags to the Gold Coast and thinking "Geez, how'd that happen?"

I don't need Eddie or anyone else to tell me what I should believe in. One Club. One Jumper.

Maybe I should go back to Bomber Blitz. At least they get it....

You are pretty deluded.

Why dont you talk to people of your own breed?

I cannot see any benefit in talking to us or Bomber supporters.

seriously, get a life!
