Sticks is a champion bloke and as loyal as they come.
The trouble is people take advantage of his loyalty and use his profile to further themselves.
Get Sticks on your side and the masses will follow.

If you counted the members that were refused voting because they hadn't registered by the cutoff, i reckon you'd get a net 7 votes for Clarke...

Totally agree steve. I voted but I don't think my vote counted as I wasn't sure if I was registered. After reading something on TC after the cut off date I'm pretty sure I wasn't registered. Therefore, my vote for Clarke didn't count. That is quite significant if he only lost by 7 votes.

Although having been a member of the club for around 10 years I should have known they wouldn't make it easy to vote. They've never made easy in the past.

I would assume that only registered members who can vote in an election would be the recipients of the voting slip from the club.

And that's what annoys me, this board made an absolute stink about this when they were trying to oust the previous board. 3 years on and nothing has changed.

Apparently though woof you needed to register again to be eligible to vote. I didn't realise that when you renew your membership your eligibility doesn't carry over. I was sent both forms but because I thought I was already registered I didn't fill that one in. If the club made it clearer that you need to register every year then there wouldn't be this problem.

Or better yet, just make every financial member automatically eligible to vote, like the 15 other clubs :)

Good to talk to you again at the AGM. And as I mentioned in the other thread - I am in your corner now. It was pathetic. It was depressing. This AGM gave nobody hope. The Boards worst failure is that they have no ability to communicate the "message". Currently having a strong bourbon and coke or 2 or 3 to sooth my damaged soul.......

Maybe they don't have a message to communicate, that's the scary thing...

BTW - the Board was very upset that the results of the election could be read in the press prior to the meeting! I had a chuckle as the journo probaly just read TC. Also clear that nobody on the Board reads TC - which again just shows the lack of interest in what the members think.....

True to a degree. There are some good initiatives and some progress, but they cant put it together into a message they can communicate.

This doesn't sound good.

Was Greg Lee introduced to audience? - Did he get a chance to speak?

Yes, he gave a very brief speech.

Yes he was. Only a short thank you speach. Interesting how a current board member took a cheap shot at Lee when we spoke after the meeting. Danielle was quite upset about it and I was also very unimpressed.

Sounds like a board that will be cohesively working together into the future... :P

Well c'mon mods - it might be time to send a weekly highligts package of TC to the Board then.

We could have Harry Beitzel's highlights and Tommy Lahiff's high lowlights, or should that be low highights.

Kennyhunter gets the info from someone at the Herald Sun if you follow his pattern, so the journo did know first
