This is the latest offering from the Herald-Sun's Jon Pierik:

http://heraldsun.com.au/footy/common/st ... 22,00.html

Every time I have the misfortune to stumble accross this dill's writing, it seems to create drama where none exists.

We all should remember this idiot's 'ear of Daniel Grollo' crap when we were moving away from Princes Park.

This latest article is a similar steaming pile, and Pierik is now, as far as I'm concerned, football journalism's lowest life form.

Rod Nicholson's pile of drivel in Saturday's Herald-Sun wasn't much better. In a pre-season profile of all AFL Clubs - Rod had this to say about our pre-season:

"2 Pre-season thrashings against Port Adelaide and Geelong."

Well okay 99 points is a thrashing in any bodies book, but last I time checked 5 goal defeats were not considered thrashings.

Stick to your authoritative comments about the Cranbourne Trots or just retire Rod - as Jon Pierik more than adequately writes enough steaming loads of dog turd to cover for you.

We were hardly disgraced against the eventual pre-season premiers & really pushed them. More accurate kicking may have made it a lot more interesting. But why have the 2 WINS we had not rated a mention?!!! :garthp:

Sorry Jack, as much as Pierek seems to lack vision, I see nothing wrong with his article.
Smith is miles ahead in the ignorant flower stakes.

The problem I have with his article is that the quotes used come straight from Greg Lee's campaign leaflet and press releases, but are included as if Pierik has obtained them himself.

I have it on good authority that Greg Lee has NEVER spoken to Pierik

I have it on good evidence he never spoke to him - those are ripped straight out of the handouts sent to members unless he is a human tape recorder.

Smith, Pierik, and Nicholson.

What's the common thread here?

You betcha, the lowest form of "journalism", News Ltd.

I suppose he would be happy to name names then if knowledge of this "hostility" is so "widespread".

Bad journalism, but he did grow up barracking for Carlton, so perhaps he isn't as anti-Carlton as some portray.

Isn't the point of the media release to actually provide quotes to the media. I don't see anything wrong with this way of reporting.

This is a nothing story about something that no one apart from us Carlton supporters care about. It is a write-to-fit piece that clearly needed padding out at the bottom of the article.

Just exactly how should a story like this look?
