A quick reminder that TODAY (20th) is the last day to get yourself registered for voting rights for the current board elections.

I went into the club yesterday afternoon and found out that I was not a registered member. "What the?" I say. I thought that Collo was going to change this when he came into power. What I found out was that last year I should have filled out a form to become a registered member, but the registration will be ongoing from year to year. This is not exactly what we wanted. If you are a financial member there is no guarantee that you are a registered member. You have to fill in an additional form. This is sneaky politics, but thanks to the heads up guys I was able to get the registration in on time and make my vote count.

Good stuff. I'm not sure whether the club is not being transparent with the voting rights issue, or is just not communicating the policy well enough. :|

I'd still like to see the announcement of the results and AGM brought back to December like most other clubs. This is not an ideal situation to be announcing results and changing directors the week before the season starts! This should be a time for unity and positive stories - not the crap we have had to put up with for the past 2 weeks. Thanks to the marketing department for a taste of good news today.

Can someone point me in the direction of the pdf voting form on carltonfc.com.au that Juzz is referring to. I'm registered but they've sent the voting papers to one of my other addresses and I won't be able to retrieve it until post vote.

cheers

IIRC, this board whinged about this policy when they were trying to depose Elliot. Given every other club has a policy that financial members are eligible to vote and given the history, this board should have already changed this...

Agreed steve, but I'm actually still not 100% certain that they haven't already changed it. Confused?! :P

Again, going by memory, it's actually in the club's constitution, so it will need a voting (by voting members) at an AGM to change it I would imagine .

Yeah, that thought did cross my mind.

Either way, can't wait to see the results of the voting at the AGM on Monday.

I thought I was registered to vote, but found out at 4:30 pm I was not and therefore could not vote .... not sure why they would allow me to register for any subsequent issues, but not allow me to vote on this one.

NOT HAPPY as I have been away for 3 months and was unaware that there was some arbitrary deadline before which one had to be registered to be able to vote.

That's a bugger Heady. The club simply has to improve its communication on this aspect. :?

Hopefully there'll be some TCers at the AGM today, looking forward to some reports on how it goes.

If there are, and someone is confident enough to address the board, it might be worth bringing up the issue of voting rights, and asking if there are any plans to change the current situation so that all financial members can vote without having to register.

Well it came and went
Result of everything were known.
Usual Bun fights about everything from Finances to Pokies to signing Brendan to the man who wants to pay the players via a performance based contract.

No answer to many questions and Collo and the board pulled a rabbit out of a hat and the votew went positive even though it was defeated in the room. Amazing what proxies in your pocket can do for mo4rale of the rank and file.

Finally who is Mr Moloney and why does he want to drink with Collo?
