Even our mob wouldn't sign Darcy at this stage. Not a chance.

Can see us bringing in both Reidy and HOK but I'd be hugely disappointed. Pick one and let L Young be fwd/2R, then bring in another mid or quick player.

What do people think of the idea of bringing in Hewett as an additional midfielder, ie. not bumping ZW out to accommodate? ZW was our best last week so I want him continuing to play big midfield minutes. Hewett would probably have low ToG% under my plan, as he has all season, but in this case it would be more by design, to mitigate against us letting teams off the leash as we have both games since dropping George. You see, we started the season with too many slow mids and got torched through the middle. Then we dropped a slow mid for more outside run and now we have moments where we lose 6 centre bounces in a row and concede 6 goals. Logical next step in my mind is to drop a tall and make sure you always have a clearance specialist AND lots of run on the field.

I'm too glass half full to know what we should do, but....

I like your logic, but I don't think we got carved by quicker midfield. I felt Grundy hit the ball to open spaces after half time as Pitto tired (Reidy was hopeless) and away they went. Ditto Dees. Ditto North.

I am a Hewett fan but get why we have over looked Kennedy (trade) then Saad (VFL), followed by Hewett (VFL). Changing of the guard and adding speed in the middle.

Mids available for selection are Lord and Hewett.
Wings available are Acres and Cottrell (if Ollie goes back and we dont add Saad or Boyd.

As for dropping a tall to accomodate. We need Weitering Dean and Haynes where they are.
Releases Young as our 2nd ruck , and I wouldnt call Gov and Kemp as tall, I would call them mobile marking forwards.

I think that leaves Derksen and OKeefe out, and Hewett or Lord in.

Bring all the Kids back in
Have no game plan
Let them all go out & have fun

We might lose by 5 Goals instead of 15.

The End result is the same: we will get flogged & Voss will be cluless to do anything about it!

Lets hope the boys bring 4 quarters this week.

Got plenty to play for and our backs against the wall. Now its time to fight.

Feel good about this week. Lets make less mistakes than last week and we should be a good watch.

Reidy will be in a rage before he gets out there. Good luck to him against his old team.

In: Reidy, Lord, Moir
Out: Elijah, Pittonet, Harry

I wonder what F Young has to do to get a game? He has been much better than Moir all year in the VFL, including last week.

I guess Ollie will drop back to defence, or maybe they’ll use Cripps as second ruck and leave Young in defence? I’d hoped for either Wilson and Saad to add run to our defence.

what an absolute, complete load of shit!!! moir has done less than @#$%&! all in the vfl, and at the open training session he wasnt with the main group, nor doing any team drills, yet he gets selected over flynn young who has much less talent, but so much more drive and attack on the ball and deserves a run with the seniors

moir is such a lazy footballer that is endemic of carlton at the moment

i guess selection integrity has been done with again....

Yeah, Moir over F Young has me confused too.

Maybe they didn't want to go too short without McKay?

Moir is 6'2, Young is 5'11.

Young might have to wait for Byrne, Ainsworth, or Evans to come out of the side?

Had a feeling Reidy would come in.

If Lord is played on a wing then I would prefer Acres.

Moir needs to show a "response" to the faith put in him because his selection has not come as a "reward".

Also I would probably give Bryne a rest and bought in Flynn Young.

I haven't been on here for a long time and, yes, I am not the BF Eric- just a lifelong supporter. I haven't been on due to the negativity here (not to mention the nuff nuffs on BF). I know it's just a stat but we are third out of eighteen on the ladder for time in front. That says heaps to me- we are not the basket case from the early 2000s when we got flogged most weeks. Evidence suggests we are doing a hell of a lot right. Clutch moments have killed us. I'll start with umpires as teams perceived to be no good always got the raw deal. Melbourne game- two crazy frees in the last. North- armchair ride. Adelaide- centre frees killed us. Collingwood- always a free to Haynes before Daicos goal. Not whinging but stating facts that if the umpiring had been fair, we would have won those games. Moving on from that, our ball movement has generally been good. Post Charlie, we don't bomb as much. Btw if Harry kicks straight, we win last week, so interested to see how we go without him. Ins are fine- Reidy is obvious. Lord is best 23 every day of the week. Only argument is Ashton or Flynn (can't drop Taylor as that's soul destroying as he's a kid who knows he should have kicked it. Legs would have been jelly, so get around him). Ashton is the sort of player who is wasted in the magoos. Flynn will get his time. As for Vossy, my view is that he is a fantastic leader and well loved by all he coaches. His presser today bought a tear to my eye. As for what Scott Penndlebury said today and what he did after the siren, what a great bloke. Rant over. Go Blues.

I watched first Crack last week and there was a section where Daniel Hoyne came on to explain their new stat, analytical contests.
Basically it is when a team kicks out of their defence (30-35m out from goal) to the middle of the ground to a contest and clears it to then go forward and score IIRC.
Either way Fremantle is the best team in the comp this year at it.
So we really need to be aware of it and shut down those contests and players and stop them from easily clearing the ball and scoring.
That will be our biggest challenge this week IMO.

Yes 7, against an undermanned weakened opposition through injury. Voss says "Charlie who?"

I’m unable to go and have passed my tickets to a fellow Carlton member.

This means we will likely pull off a miracle win now.

You can thank me in advance
