Even our mob wouldn't sign Darcy at this stage. Not a chance.
Can see us bringing in both Reidy and HOK but I'd be hugely disappointed. Pick one and let L Young be fwd/2R, then bring in another mid or quick player.
What do people think of the idea of bringing in Hewett as an additional midfielder, ie. not bumping ZW out to accommodate? ZW was our best last week so I want him continuing to play big midfield minutes. Hewett would probably have low ToG% under my plan, as he has all season, but in this case it would be more by design, to mitigate against us letting teams off the leash as we have both games since dropping George. You see, we started the season with too many slow mids and got torched through the middle. Then we dropped a slow mid for more outside run and now we have moments where we lose 6 centre bounces in a row and concede 6 goals. Logical next step in my mind is to drop a tall and make sure you always have a clearance specialist AND lots of run on the field.
I'm too glass half full to know what we should do, but....
I like your logic, but I don't think we got carved by quicker midfield. I felt Grundy hit the ball to open spaces after half time as Pitto tired (Reidy was hopeless) and away they went. Ditto Dees. Ditto North.
I am a Hewett fan but get why we have over looked Kennedy (trade) then Saad (VFL), followed by Hewett (VFL). Changing of the guard and adding speed in the middle.
Mids available for selection are Lord and Hewett.
Wings available are Acres and Cottrell (if Ollie goes back and we dont add Saad or Boyd.
As for dropping a tall to accomodate. We need Weitering Dean and Haynes where they are.
Releases Young as our 2nd ruck , and I wouldnt call Gov and Kemp as tall, I would call them mobile marking forwards.
I think that leaves Derksen and OKeefe out, and Hewett or Lord in.
